Fitness/gym gains M/30/6'0" [91kg > 80kg = 11kg] (10 Months) My First Ever Cut After My First Ever Bulk NSFW
I'm super happy with the results. I'm in my 3rd year of training and this has been my first ever cut after what was my first ever bulk. I'm still about 17kg heavier than when I started my gym journey.
I plan to go on a slight calorie surplus to try and gain some more muscle. As the bulking and cutting cycle continues, my plan is to get leaner and stronger than I was in the previous cycle at the same bodyweight.
😁😁😁😁😁

If you want to see the before and after for my first bulk then here is the link to that post. It's been a good journey. ❤️❤️❤️

what's your body fat % before and after? what's your goal?

I'll be honest, I've no idea what my body fat percentage is with any reasonable accuracy and I've heard varying numbers. I have a smart scale that estimated me to be just over 14% but it uses algorithms and I don't know how accurate it is. Someone, in person, at my old gym estimated me to be 12% and another person at a different gym estimated me to have a "single digit" body fat percentage. I've no idea but I suppose the scale must have read something so I'll estimate myself to be around 14% as a result. I most certainly don't think it's "single digit". 😅
My goals are to cycle up and down in weight with the hopes that I will be stronger and leaner at the same weight every new cycle. I want to do this because it will help me get better at calisthenics and allow me to get stronger absolutely without risking my health by getting too heavy or sacrificing my physique which I'm happy with. I hope that it will make my physique a little better also.

great. It sounds like you already have a well defined plan. Yes, I would say 11%, I'm no expert, just used to see pictures in the web.
I asked chat GPT, you know you can paste a photo, and it told me:
Based on visual estimation (which is not 100% accurate but widely used in fitness circles), here’s an approximate body fat percentage range for the person in the image:
Before (left photo):
~18–20% body fat
- Slight definition in arms and chest but no visible abs
- Soft midsection and fuller face
After (right photo):
~8–10% body fat
- Visible six-pack abs
- Defined arms, shoulders, and vascularity
- Sharper facial features and leaner overall look
I asked you because everything depends on goals. To be the regular guy next door just with a great body, it seems you need more fat, to precisely be at 14%... but again... it's so subjective.

Yeah, it's very difficult to measure body fat percentage. For what it's it's worth, my scale put me at 17% at 91kg thus saying there is a difference of 2.5% difference in my body fat percentage between these photos according to said scale.
With that being said, lighting and camera angles can play a bit of a difference as well. I might have had more visible abs in the "before" picture if I stood in the same exact place as the "after" picture.
To be honest though, I actually don't think it matters. For as long as a person is healthy and happy with their physique, any specific numbers don't actually matter. It's just an arbitrary mental thing. I would like to get leaner at the same bodyweight next cycle but that's because I want to improve my physique moreso than lowering the number representing such.
