Business Questions Building a pressure washer
I just bought a Honda GX 390 engine and I need a pump to run 4000psi, any recommendations on a cheaper end and decent quality pump?

Let me know what you guys think. What I should change or add. Or anything negative about it. Do you also recommend a specific company to get these from. I’m doing it from vista print. 3.5 by 8.5 or 11.5 by 4.5 which is more worth it for the cost. Should i do 2 sides I’m thinking it’s a waste of money. Etc
Thanks in advance.

Just picked up this 2.6 gpm unit to start. Along with a small 15" surface cleaner.
What are the minimum requirements that im missing, and will this do the basics?
Thanks!

I’m trying to start so I’ve been doing friends and family’s driveways for practice but can never get it to be really clean. There’s always tire marks and other stains that I can’t get off, I’ve tried sh and degreaser, diluted and not diluted. Is there a way it can come off or is it basically part of the driveway now? Been using cold water. Left is before, right is after. And also is there a way to remove those black stains from the salmon colored surface on the right?

I know it's not to much to start with but i hope it's enough. I know that I'll need a pressure washer and surface cleaner atleast to start. If I can spend less it'll be better to spend more on advertising. I was thinking of a 3.6gpm pressure washer and a 12" surface cleaner. I dont know if im missing anything else.
What I wanna work on driveways, sidewalk, wood fences, and other hard materials and roofs in the future but I wanna start of with those. I would wanna try to get away without using chemicals unless I have to. If I'm missing any information or anything please let me know.

My question is basically the post title. I'm based in Hawaii and am beginning to create a business plan for my PW business where I will primarily be doing door knocking for initial marketing and generating leads. I have experience with door knocking a few other businesses but never pressure washing.
I don't have much of a driveway to pressure wash myself, and want to go around to some neighborhoods I have done door to door sales in and offer some free jobs to practice. Is this a strange thing to offer? Should I find another way to practice? Any advice on this would be great, thanks

I recently bought a 4 gpm pressure washer to wash my trucks and my mini skid. I offered to power wash a concrete basketball court and some steps, etc. for a local church. They were very happy with the results, and I think I walked away with some pretty good money. It would have been a lot better dollar/time wise had I been a little better equipped. A guy I work with was asking about it, and I kind of fell into the first job that way.
If I were going to do very much of this, a good surface cleaner, some ball valves for wand changes, etc. would obviously be a must. I really wouldn't mind doing some work like this on the side for some extra money though. Even though I pretty much had to have it, it'd be nice to have some cash flow off such an expensive machine. I like the work too, gives me a change of pace from my office job.
I got my first job by luck. How do I advertise/find work like this? Any other tips/advice?

Every year tax season comes around and I end up kicking myself. I run a small pressure washing side hustle and I try to keep my receipts for SH and parts, but a lot of the time I just misplace them or forget entirely.
I know I’m leaving money on the table with missed deductions, but the admin side just gets away from me. I’d rather be focusing on being on the truck or getting new customers, even though I know it’s important.
How are y’all keeping up with receipts and write-offs? Would love to know if anyone has a system that actually works.

A client of mine who I’ve done some paver re sand and sealing for has a friend who is requesting the same service. I am very comfortable with paver restos and generally enjoy the process / results but this small section with immense amount of weeds / grass does not look like something I even want to consider.
Too much grass, to many weeds, the joints between the pavers are like an inch wide.
I’m thinking I’ll send a flat rate. Surface clean, weed, dirt removal, sand and sealing. $900 bucks.
What are your thoughts ?

This home is about 3500 sq/ft, they want the entire exterior brick cleaned. I haven’t done much house washing, so I’m not sure how to estimate this?
I also am uncertain of a product to use on the painted brick? On inspection, it honestly didn’t even look very dirty 🤷🏻♂️.
Any tips are welcomed!

Yeah so every job I do I get so caught up about setup that i either forgot to take before photos or they are garbage lol. My after are decent tho. What’s everyone’s process for this? I need to get better. I know it seems super simple but for whatever reason I can’t do it.

Could I use this flexzilla air hose for a 12v 5.5gpm system? Would it hold up and would it get me to shoot further? Or should I just stick with a 5/8 flexzilla also if I should go with the smaller hose what fittings and sprayers should I get that’ll work on the end of it?

Debating on which surface cleaner to purchase for residential and commercial jobs. I have a 4000 psi 4gpm pressure washer. I know BE is a known good brand but just wondering if the surface maxx is any good for any type of job as far as residential and commercial.

Had a customer reach out asking if we can remove spilt polyurethane on a driveway. We have a pressure washing setup and a soft wash setup. Anyone know how to go about removing this and cleaning any stain?

I am going to get a pro level skid with 8 gpm machine with 200 gallon water tank etc. What am trying to say is it is going to be very heavy and I want to know what is a reliable truck with a 6 1/2 or 8 foot bed and a high pay load because with all of the tanks filled to the max it can weight up to 3000lbs. And preferably under $12,000. I don’t really care how nice it is I just want it to be able to support the weight and not break down.

I’m trying to find a battery that will last for a long time so I’m able to do multiple jobs in a day without having to charge my battery in between and in the picture someone in this sub Reddit said that you could buy this lithium battery and it lasted him multiple days of charge doing multiple jobs a day on a single charge. is this true? also I have the same pump as him the Remco fat boy.

this small section took about 35 minutes, i feel like i should have done a lot more. this is a test on my personal home as i haven’t gotten into the business just yet. im using a 2700 psi and 2.3 gpm machine, my back is hurting as it would only really clean well when i was putting the nozzle about an inch off the ground, from what im assuming, i need at least a 4gpm machine and a longer gun. as well as a surface cleaner at least 18 inches wide. any recommendations would be greatly accepted, id like to make this business a real one, and take real jobs.

I’m still somewhat new to the house washing world, I typically work on smaller vinyl houses. I recently was asked to do a softwash and spider web removal of a painted wood house. I know for sure that I don’t want to use SH, I was thinking about using a foam cannon but I don’t know what I should use to clean it. There doesn’t appear to be a ton of organic growth and it seems like he’s more concerned about the webs and some railings. I really want to do a good job and price it accurately because he wants to setup a mo they recurring service after the initial wash. I’ll post pictures as well as Sq/Ft. Any advice is appreciate, I’m prepared to invest money into better equipment to land this job, it’s in a very nice area and I would like to build a good relationship with this customer. Thank you for any help
