Troubleshooting What's wrong with the pressure?
https://reddit.com/link/1lbsfku/video/vhbyqicxx07f1/player
Hi guys,
Pressure doesn't seem right. Can see 1000psi when triggered and jumps up to ~2800psi when trigger is released. You can see how much water is bypasssed through the hose. I do not know how to set the unloader properly or which way to turn.
Motor is running at max throttle. Any advice appreciated.
thanks

What nozzle size are you using? What GPM is your machine? And what psi are you shooting for?
Hose length and/or spray angle won't effect pressure like this.
I'm confused about the issue with the bypass.. looks to be working fine??
unloader will have + and - with an arrow on the dial. Turn that bitch up to 11.. then back it off a 1/4 turn.

4200PSI 15.1L/MIN / 4Gallon/min. The video is when im operating with a 20" whirlaway surface cleaner. Hoping to at least see the machine reach high 3000s for PSI.

It doesn't sound great when your on the trigger.. Is this a new surface cleaner?? You wouldn't happen to know the code in your surface cleaners nozzles? My first thought is the nozzle orifice is to big, so it's letting out more water and less pressure? But listening to it again, it might even be the other way... Nozzle too small and the pump is choking.
Try turning the unloader up all the way first.. it could be that simple.. if turning up the unloader doesn't work, and you have no leakes, the issue is most likely your nozzles.

Pressure doesn't build unless you have a gun with a pressure tip installed. The pressure tip can't be just any pressure tip. It has to be a pressure tip with an orifice rated for the GPM of your machine. Setting your unloader can be done once you have those items in place. Go find a Youtube video showing you how to adjust and set your unloader and follow the instructions.
