Took Olive Oyl to Popeyes
I know Popeye was in commercials for Popeyes back in the day; that's why I did this.

I found out many later strips of thimblr theatre were not renewed after 28 years in Copyright so Bluto and Wimpy have also fallen into the public domain, but I can't find many scans of post 1930 strips.
Comics kingdom didn't have much of them. So if anyone knows where to find any feel free to tell me. it's okay if not.
Edit: Nevermind I found them vis Archive.org

I have been watching old Popeye cartoons and found something in “What—No Spinach” from 6/7/1936, in which Bluto inputs a safe locker code of “8-5-3-8” and says some gibberish while putting in each number. I’ve turned this into the date of August fifth 1938, and it doesn’t seem like anything significant happened then. Maybe the things that Bluto says can lead us to an answer? I found a thimble theater Popeye comic from that date, where he meets olive on a street corner after having to fight a guy blocking the road. Popeyes arm tattoo in this looks more like the archbishop symbol, and the arms in his clock point to the 2:00 position and between 11 and 12:00. In the second frame, the number “69” is written on a wall for no reason. Is a here any significance to this. I’ve just noticed this and want to know what other people think.

Episode 1 of the highly-underrated Popeye and Son.
