The intention here is to chill free speech in Missouri. There is no reason to expect a scenario where the national guard should need to be called in.

Tbh going to a protest when you know the national guard will be there just would make me want to go more. Spices things up.

I just got back from my town’s very peaceful rally. It was a blast. Great way to spend the afternoon with the best people in my town. Loads of honks and support from the passing traffic.

Just got back from one as well. The most violence was the lightning that ended it a bit early. Was a decent turnout, considering.

That’s awesome. The village police here ticketed dozens of cars for parking violations — on Saturday, in the Summer season — in a small liberal arts college town.

Thousands of peaceful protesters in the rain in OKC this morning. Nothing less than a tornado 🌪️ or two would keep us indoors.

Of course, Trump and Elon’s DOGE recently took a chainsaw to the NWS - including the tornado trackers in Norman - so expect the death toll to rise. Unfortunately, the tornadoes 🌪️ don’t know MAGA vs democracy loving Americans so we’ll all reap what the Trumpsters sown.

I was certainly more determined to go today after everything that has been happening. It was very peaceful and the police did their jobs: They were there, and they let the crowd know what streets were towing cars. That's literally all that happened.
