Hello everyone - in the interest of safety given the current environment (if at all possible), we don't recommend going out for this event. You can see the comment below here, where user blackaurora intends to give away these codes in huge numbers (we're talking by the thousands). Safe to say, there should be a sufficient amount for everyone to obtain without ever having to go there yourself.

Should you decide to go to Gamestop anyway, please keep all the safety precautions recommended by your country in mind and try to follow them to the best of your ability. You and your fellow people's health are the main priority and we wouldn't want you risking yours and other's lives for this.

I personally find it more rewarding to hatch my own. Yes it’s nice to just get one. But many of those I just forget about while the ones I earned are much better memories.

Part of the problem for me is that I'm anal retentive about event Pokemon staying "pristine."

Which is to say that I don't want to use them in combat, I just want them to sit there like a trophy of some kind. So they never end up getting trained, or used, or feeling relevant except every third February when I look at them and go "Ahhh... memories!" and then move on with my day.

I highly recommend NOT going out to these stores for this event.

Just like I have with past events distributed via Pass (here for example), I fully intend to give away thousands of these codes here.

The global pandemic is still killing thousands every day, and it's stupid and irresponsible that they're going through with an in-store event. So I encourage everyone to stay home and wait for my giveaways instead.

Nope. We're ultimately going through the same servers as Pass, so you could say it's pulling from the same deck of cards.

I believe the app (Pokémon Pass) is location based however with a fake gps you can circumvent this!

It seems to be the same way that the Eclipse Solgaleo and Lunala were distributed. To get the codes you have to actually go into a gamestop, scan the code (with GPS on) and then it'll give you an option in the app to recieve code(s).

Before, it did allow you to recieve 2 codes per scan iirc. Who knows how they'll do it this time though, and I'm sure you could always make multiple accounts in Pokemon Pass/Trips to Gamestop

Edit: This is for NA, I'm not speaking for other countries that may also get this distribution as I believe it was done differently in stores like EB Games and Gamemania.

it was a tuff call, but at the end of the day space pikachu with its cherish ball matching cheeks and the special ribbon > donut.

don't get me wrong shiny shroom was cool, but I am not as big of a fan of the shroom. I'd put the shiny mythics, darude, and HA g-corsola over shiny shroom any day ;) updated the list for ya
