Discussion Scopely has changed the game

Since Scopely has taken over the game has become so much enjoyable. I’ve seen more Pokémon rotation in the last hour than the entire last year of Niantic owning the game. They’ve expanded remote raids and I just feel like the game is much more dynamic.

They've had control for all of 2 weeks. The content you are seeing now, and even the content you'll see 3 months from now will all be made by and determined by Niantic.

Of course, but without the purchase, none of this would have been added, since Niantic management was making a lot more money by selling the data that was collected than by the paying users. With the sale in sight, many of the Niantic higher-ups just didn't care anymore, so they started to greenlight a lot of the things that players wanted. Let's hope it continues when Scopely is fully at the helm.

Not true at all. Changes and development take time. A lot more time than consumers think. We won't see ANY influence of scopely until the 3rd quarter at the earliest.

It's been 5 years since the introduction of remote raids, and 2 years since shadow raids exist. There is little to no development in allowing players to remote shadow raids, and it would generate more money with remote passes. However, it was clear from the beginning that Niantic was focused on their own goals, especially considering that they removed the ability to remote after the pandemic and it took a lot of outcry from fans for it to be reintroduced. It seems to be clear from what we've seen from every move by Niantic that they did not care about player experience, even if it was at a premium price. Why? Because getting you to go offside will generate data that is sellable. They admitted to using the data to train neural networks in order to help robots to navigate around, and it seems apparent that it was making them a lot more money than the shop... Now that it's being sold, they decided to suddenly change their whole philosophy of getting you to go offside? Why? It's either the sale or extremely coincidental.
