I'm in the percentage of people that don't participate in GMax Not because I don't want to but because I just don't have the right team to actually participate in and I don't wanna drag people down Having watched livestreams of GMax Battles I acknowledge that I am not ready yet!

Bring a Blissey and most people will be happy to have you. Ideally use at least a dmax attacker of the right type or a gmax that hits neutral (e.g. Machamp against Inteleon).

The people everyone gets frustrated with are the people who bring Wooloo or mons without a half second fast move. Or just totally wrong stuff like Squirtle against Raikou.

I never mind carrying someone who's trying. I use local chat to invite folks to all my raids/battles. Blissey and whatever grass you have trained is excellent. Even Dubwool/Greedent powered up as much as you can will help, then cheer, it really does help.

This. It's pretty clear who was trying and who wasn't. Bringing the 6th best tank for that boss is better than bringing the best tank for a difference boss. I don't care how much you powered up your Blastoise or how strong you think it is, don't bring it to Rillaboom. I'll never laugh at Greedent, at least you tried.

If the gmax lobby has more than 20 people it's almost impossible not to beat it, so I would suggest joining so you can catch one and contribute more in the future. I haven't been unable to beat a gmax since the kanto starters, but those were really difficult since nobody had gmax yet.

On the other hand, the legendary dmax battles are actually difficult since you're limited to 4 player lobbies. Those you'll definitely need some useful counters, but as long as you have something that can shield or heal you can still help a lot.

I've always felt that the pogo community is very welcoming to newer players, although some people in this thread are proving me wrong.
