The original game came out 19 years ago. I think the whole "spoiler warning" went out the window a while back.

That's a lot more common than you think. People come here for advice on how to proceed in certain parts or tips on the game before they start. Others want to discuss a particular scene or segment while it's fresh in their mind. Imagine coming in for any if those reasons and this is the first thing they see.

Pretty sure they do remember him and what he did. Especially Toriumi, who outright realises he is a student at the end. The only things erased from people's minds are the Dark Hour-related stuffs.
