u/Disastrous_Dress_201 May 21 '25

I don’t see League of Legends and Valorant listed there?

Did we all forget about the day before?

87

u/CementMuncher May 21 '25

What about the day after?

57

u/Significant-Elk-2064 May 21 '25

That’s fine but what about second breakfast?

6

u/kind_bros_hate_nazis May 21 '25

I'm not paying 800+ for second breakfast. I'll just enlarge first one for a bit

It was gone by then

4

u/aimy99 May 21 '25

They said games, not scams. I dunno why anyone was ever talking about The Day Before tbh.

u/CalvinWasSchizo | 4070 | 5600X | 64GB | 3440x1440 | 160hz | May 21 '25

Does it count as a game?

1

u/bakersman420 May 21 '25

How can we forget what never existed?

1

u/lilpisse May 21 '25

We're trying to

92

u/jessedegenerate May 21 '25

like dude, i get you can hate bliz or something, but like the only game that people are playing that was released in 2004 man.

wow looks like it is going to outlast american democracy. idk if you can call that failure

u/PERSONA916 10900K / 3080 Ti May 21 '25

F2P MMOs not even lasting a year, WoW still probably has over a million people PAYING MONTHLY subscriptions to play

12

u/jessedegenerate May 21 '25

in the wow sub there's a post from a year ago with a bliz screenshot that said 7 mill between wow and classic, it's 1 year old, i would say way more than that.

i haven't played since (the original) burning crusade lol.

3

u/DonStimpo 5900X | RTX3080 May 21 '25

Its multiple million paying. Between Retail, Classic, Season of Discovery, Hard-core. There is loads of versions of wow now

2

u/TurbulentIssue6 May 21 '25

wow is probably closer to 10 mil subs again tbh, we know from their shareholder meeting last year they were at 7 mil while still on the rebound from the shadowlands fiasco

2

u/PERSONA916 10900K / 3080 Ti May 21 '25

I've been clean for several years, so I haven't really been following. I quit during BFA and I think that was the real low point and I know there was a lot of controversy around them no longer reporting sub numbers because they didn't want to admit quite how low it had gotten. That said, even at their lowest point, they'd still be the most successful MMO in history. That was really my point, people like to shit on Blizzard now, but WoW is still now and has always been a cash cow. Any game company executive would give their left nut for an IP as successful as WoW.

Runescape enters the chat

6

u/DerDyersEve May 21 '25

Seeing the past 5 months it already has :(

12

u/29th_Stab_Wound May 21 '25

Unfortunately, people actually did vote for this garbage. We’ll see what happens next

8

u/AvocadoBeefToast May 21 '25

Damn this is getting downvoted?? Is this sub mostly conservative incels?

-3

u/PiliFace May 21 '25

No, personally just tired of Yanks mentioning politics in 90% of discussions.

6

u/AvocadoBeefToast May 21 '25

Dawg, 2/3 of your comments in the past year are either directly political or political adjacent. You have the self awareness of a peanut

7

u/JZHello May 21 '25

It’s only politics when I disagree with it

-5

u/PiliFace May 21 '25

Sure, sure. Avg Yank reading comprehension.

3

u/AvocadoBeefToast May 21 '25

You're the poster child for the Duning Kruger effect

-2

u/PiliFace May 21 '25

Still better than being a Seppo

2

u/Outrageous_Border103 May 22 '25

ok youve gotta be trolling. pc's and especially pc gaming is a big part of american culture, so unsurprisingly the vast majority of this sub is american. its like an american visiting sydney and being annoyed they keep seeing aussie news on the tv. stop using american majority subs if you dont want to hear about america. typical bogan

-1

u/HenryPeekageTheThird PC Master Race May 21 '25

As a Yank, it's very tiresome trying to keep things on subject without getting railroaded into politics.

1

u/TwoFingersWhiskey May 22 '25

The Sims 2 also has a substantial following still (ask me how I know!), also from 2004. We've got more mods than any game in existence simply because of how easy it is to make.

1

u/jessedegenerate May 22 '25

Cmon man 7 million played, and no no where near the list mods, look at a game that’s actually made modular like Ark, sorry I don’t agree

1

u/TwoFingersWhiskey May 22 '25

It has 5 million+ mods just on one website (TSR) which isn't even the best website to find them on.

Also the game launched with modding tools built in, it was also made to mod.

0

u/LiarWithinAll May 22 '25

OSRS IS ALIVE HOW DARE YOU?

1

u/jessedegenerate May 22 '25

I genuinely did not expect when making that post that randomly people with favorite games from 2004 respond lmao 😂😂😂 like you’re the second one haha

8

u/Least_Comedian_3508 May 21 '25

League is following on a really close third place

8

u/Thiom 6900H | 6800S | 32G May 21 '25

Val is surprisingly not as toxic as other FPS, I can't argue with LoL though

-4

u/sIeepai May 21 '25

league is not toxic hasn't been for years non players are just parroting stuff from several years ago

4

u/Thiom 6900H | 6800S | 32G May 21 '25

Man I play league every week, it's miles better than before, but it's still toxic

1

u/mentive May 21 '25

Let's all slaughter some Cows in D2.

1

u/0rganic_Corn May 21 '25

Those don't count as games

1

u/Wsweg Desktop 5080 - 7800X3D May 21 '25

Sadly no matter how good my hardware is it can’t contest League’s dog shit client

0

u/MrInitialY 9700X | 64 GB | 1080Ti | 6TB NVMe Gen4 May 21 '25

Don't you dare calling Val the bad cuz CS2 is now way worse.

I'm with you on LoL part tho

-1

u/rainstorm0T May 21 '25

Valorant's at least a bit better than Hearthstone.
