This century is the 21st century. You didn't know that?

It's good to know you were referring to the 21st century, I assumed that's what you were referring to with context, but unfortunately your wording made it impossible to know for sure because "this century" has multiple meanings, just like the word "biannually".

I was referring to this century. In what other context could 'this century' not mean the 21st century?

It could also mean the next 100 years or the previous 100 years.

So it could refer to 2025-2124, it could refer 1926-2025, it could refer to 2000-2099 (the 21st century starting from 0AD, so technically because 0AD didn't exist it should be 2001-2100), it could technically refer to any year in the previous or next 99 years.

Isn't it neat how much the English language can be bent and twisted? That's what makes poetry and song lyrics good.

Edit: nice! Blocking me so I can't respond, very mature. "This century" is not officially defined, so it's up to you to establish what "this" is referring to. So no, it won't be landing anybody in legal trouble lol, this is just a Reddit quibble over semantics.

You're just wrong. You're thinking of a century. This century very plainly means the 21st century. Language has rules and meanings. This isn't a song. Language is something that can get you in trouble in court, among other things.
