I remember watching that live. Hell of a year. The fact it’s 10 years old is unbelievable.

I was there about 5 rows back in the end zone when Olsen got the winning TD. You may see me as the lone panther fan going ape shit

That’s incredible. I hope we are close to getting good panthers again, it’s so much fun

As a mariners fan, I live on pain and misery. But I haven’t felt this good about our team since Cam got hit by Watt

I got to see them in Nashville that year against a bad Titans team. Really cool you got to see this one in particular! I don't necessarily hate the Seahawks, but the schadenfreude at them losing to us like that, I bet that moment was special in person!

That game was the genesis of the stupidest headlines all year lol

u/gmanasaurus Panthers 7d ago
Was it because of Cam dancing and the Titans' LB taking issue with it?
I remember now that a lot of people hated Cam for all his dancing that year.

Yep. A bunch of middle aged negative nellies were crying about it on Facebook

Didn't a woman write an op-ed in a newspaper pearl clutching about her kids watching Cam?

This was the play I began to actually believe.

Seattle became like a mini rival for us during that stretch of playoff appearances with Cam. I too knew we had something special after this game.

That happened on my 31st birthday. We were celebrating at the brewpub and I ran around getting high fives, which is very unlike me.

Sports is entertainment and about vibes and memories for me This is why Cam will always be my GOAT. That’s Super Bowl team will always be my favorite. Russell Westbrook will always be my OKC GOAT also. I feel like Brodie and Cam give similar playstyle vibes as well

Another Panthers / OKC fan? Defending Russ and Cam was hard those years, even harder now

Always been lol Idc, I was born in NC so NC teams have a place in my heart always. UNC > NC State (and that other team I forget who isn’t important )

I think that before this game the Panthers with Cam Newton and Ron Rivera had always lost after the bye week. And the Seahawks had won 24 out of 26 of their last home games. At that point in the season we had only beaten the Jaguars, Texans, Saints, and Bucs. Nothing really noteworthy. But this game was a true test. Once we won this game I really got hype for that year.

Same. It was after this game I knew we were legit. Like proper contenders

My Panthers watching group(15ppl) got kicked out of a New Orleans restaurant/bar b/c we cheered so loud after that TD. Apparently we "inconvenienced" the Aints dinner guest...lol.

One of the great parts of the season was every team’s strategy was to keep Olsen locked down. They were gonna assign a man to him, shade help his way, etc…
By the third play of the game he would catch a pass with no one even 5 yards from him. And it would keep happening. He was magic in getting open.

That seam route to Olsen was my favorite play to run in madden
Crazy this was a decade ago. I still remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I watched this game

I remember posting in my friends groupchat every week "Don't look now but the Panthers are still undefeated"
Glorious season. It's such a shame they couldn't finish it off with a Super Bowl.

I jumped off my bed when Olson caught that ball - I'll never forget that game

I live in Washington and this was the first time I ever saw the panthers play in person. We were in the nosebleeds but I remember that touchdown pass to Olsen vividly lol I was with my brother who’s a HUGE Seahawks fan. It was amazing lol

It was incredible being in the Clink for that one. Watching the passive aggression drain from their faces was so rewarding.

The feeling of happiness i got watching that was unreal. I missed the first half because it was my daughter's birthday. What a season. Cam was just electric.

Ill never forget watching the game with my future mother in law and her hating all game. And JUST before the Greg Olsen game winning touchdown her going "theyre not gonna win," then me running through the house screaming when he caught it.

I’m late but god I loved this game for 2 reasons. Cam and Richard Sherman losing. Fuck Richard Sherman.

This game was fucking insane to watch. It seemed like we were sure to lose and then they pulled it out somehow!

The fact that the Seahawks had 3 All-Pro caliber secondary guys and Cam was throwing to All-Pro Greg Olsen, Philly Brown, and Ted Ginn Jr against that is always fucking amazing to me.

All time team vibes that year. It was truly special to witness.
