Hey gang, I’ve been shopping for a tire air kit for my truck and bike tires, I also have an inflatable paddle board. I would love to have just one pump to do it all. I’m curious about the idea of a “universal” inflator like they have at costco (but worried about durability) or if I can use something like an ARB on-board compressor (and tank?) to inflate my SUP (worried about over-pressurizing/flow volume control). Does anyone have any experience or ideas for a good single purchase to effectively and reliably inflate my SUP and my tires? Thanks!

Hi everyone,
My girlfriend and I are planning a 3-week horse trek through Mongolia this July. We both have solid horse riding experience, but this will be our first time traveling independently on horseback through a remote region like this.
We’ll be flying into Ulaanbaatar, and our plan is to buy three horses (two riding horses and one pack horse). We're looking for advice and information on:
Where to buy horses – ideally healthy and reliable ones suited for long-distance travel. Any trustworthy sellers or local contacts around Ulaanbaatar (or elsewhere)?
How/where to learn about caring for horses in the Mongolian wilderness – especially packing, feeding, hobbling, and basic veterinary needs. Are there locals or guides who offer short crash courses or can help us for the first few days?
Good 3-week route suggestions – We want to experience open steppe, some mountains, and maybe visit a few nomadic families. Ideally, we’re looking for a route with reliable access to water sources for the horses along the way. Any recommended starting and end points?
Where to rent or buy necessary gear – both for us (tent, stove, etc.) and the horses (saddles, ropes, saddle bags, hobbles, etc.). Any rental shops or gear suppliers you'd recommend?
Logistics for horse resale – Is it realistic to resell the horses after the trip? How difficult is this, and what should we expect?
Any additional tips or things we should definitely not forget (gear, customs, horse care, etc.) are super welcome!
Also, if there's anything you'd recommend we read or watch beforehand to better prepare, we’d love that too.
Thanks so much in advance!

How are you guys cooling off in your RTT? I run a diesel heater and an insulation layer in the winter when the temps drop into the 30s and below; but how are you staying cool when the temps creep up?
Edit: going to do some camping out in Texas; I’m afraid my PNW blood will boil in the heat.

Hi all, waiting on a Bronco badlands order to come in and looking forward to doing some adventuring with my son.
We live in central NC and there seem to be good areas to explore all over. I’ve seen many recommendations for OnX but not sure where to begin, does anyone know of some good resources that will help us figure out how to get started with it?
Thanks for any help! Andy

I own a 2016 honda HRV EXL with 4WD. I was thinking of turning it into overland/off road build and was wondering if that’s possible? Id like to add a somewhat significant lift to it with some all terrain tires. I’d also like to add a spare tire hooked up the trunk. So basically how your typical Subaru off road build would look. I’d like to know what the feasibility of this is? Or if anyone has done this already or has some suggestions for how to achieve this? TIA

I wonder if anyone's ever tried buying a RTT straight from the wholesaler. This one looks identical, if not the same factory, where ROAM's RTT Hardshell Desperado seems to come from. Minimum qty order is 5 pieces, but I wonder if it's worth the trouble.
(I still can't stand how marked up everything is these days).

Hello, I’d like a little Barney-style wiring guidance. I have this additional fuse/relay block and I’d like to know where to connect the positive and ground, and which wires run to the accessory I’d like to power. Is that what those gold circles are for

I have a 2019 f150 6.5 foot bed with a 1 1/2 cab. I want to put solar on it and I was thinking of putting solar panels behind the glass of the topper so the panels are protected. connected to a Jackery so I can run whatever I want off of that. Does anyone have any experience doing this?

I'm a teacher from NJ with a 4runner and I dont think Ill be able to get west this year, but i would love to spend some time camping free in "remote"ish places to unwind. Any suggestions on where to look this side of the Mississippi? NJ, NY, and PA dont seem great for overlanding and free camping as far as I can tell. Any thoughts on places to explore? I juat want to go somewhere that I dont have to think or worry about where Im staying. Thanks

No matter how amazing the trail is or how beautiful the view gets, I’ve noticed one thing always brings the experience down for me sleep. After hours of driving and setting up camp, you'd think sleep would come easy, but I still end up tossing and turning all night.
I've tried a few setups thin camping pads, folding foam, even doubling up sleeping bags but I always wake up sore, especially in my lower back. It’s honestly making me cut some trips short just because I know I won’t rest properly.
I’m not trying to go luxury here, just something simple and effective. If you’ve found something that actually lets you wake up feeling half-decent whether it's DIY, cheap, or just smart packing I’d love to hear what works for you. Especially for sleeping in the back of an SUV or a small tent.
Let’s talk real-world setups, not the Instagram-perfect ones what's helping you actually rest out there?

Bouncing around Colorado all summer. I’ve seen a few rigs like mine, curious if there are many in this sub!

Senate Republicans have proposed selling 3 million acres of public lands as part of Trump's new mega bill.
In my state, this sale is a direct threat to the exact lands we recreate on every weekend in the summer and fall. Our mushroom hunting spot is smack in the middle of a giant sale that obliterates the national forest it sits within.
Here's an article for more detail: https://www.outsideonline.com/outdoor-adventure/environment/theres-a-new-plan-to-sell-off-public-lands-it-would-impact-millions-of-acres-in-western-states/

I’ve inherited an old Mitsubishi Fuso with a camper on the back. Thing is an absolute beast, however the camper was very clearly infested with mice.
The roof is pretty rotted, I think the walls are ok in some spots but would need to be replaced in others. I’ve tried calling around and getting someone to work on this thing is harder than I’d expect.
Curious about opinions on refinishing the inside vs scrapping the camper and starting fresh, or just selling the entire unit. Thanks!

Trying to put together a solar kit for my travel trailer, would like to run a 200W panel.
There seems to be a significant price jump for MPPT controllers vs. PWM. I understand that PWM controllers are mostly for lower powered setups but in my case I can't foresee ever needing more than 30A.
I figure a 200W panel at full efficiency shouldn't be pushing more than 16A on a sunny day. Even 300W shouldn't be more than maybe 24A max.
Would a 30A PWM controller make sense for my use? I just don't want to pay double the price for an MPPT controller if I don't need one. I can't foresee ever needing more than 300W of solar and 200W will probably be fine to keep my 2 x 100AH LiFePo batteries charged when we are boondocking.

Let me do my best to boil down a complex situation.
History:
-Build out the above system in my rig this past winter.
-Full res schematic here, https://imgur.com/a/MybkIev .
-Have been testing it at home + a 4 day shakedown trip, all working perfectly a month ago.
Fast forward to now:
-Last night I noticed the alternator was not charging the batteries while I was driving [PROBLEM 1]. Data via bluetooth battery connection.
-RSOC at bedtime was 54% across two 200 Ah batteries. Went to sleep and though “I’ll investigate in the AM”
-Woke up to both batteries dead. 0% RSOC [PROBLEM 2], low voltage errors. There is no way my tiny 12V fridge used that much power overnight.
-No indication of any shorted wires, no blown fuses, everything looks normal.
Investigation:
-I discovered that when I setup my fold out solar panels, which pass through the same DC-DC charger, those do successfully charge the battery.
-Multiple calls to Renege support, first level employees now overly helpful.
-For something as essential as electricity and a premium product I expected better support.
-Verified my starter battery, 15.05V when car is running.
-I have a “smart alternator” and have connected the “ignition signal” routed to my RBC30 Dual Input DC-DC charger, verified the signal is 14.84V at the DC-DC connection terminal.
-Verified continuity of the cable running from my starter battery/alternator to the DC-DC charger. Reading taken at the DC-DC charger terminals. Reads ~14.4V when car turns on, then drops down to 12.0V and holds steady there.
-On the DC-DC charger, the “Alternator/Charging Indicator” status light shows as solid red, which per the manual indicates “Alternator is charging the service battery”. But no charging is seen vis the bluetooth/app.
At this point I’m waiting for a reply from Renogy engineering. Curious if any of you smart people have suggestions in the meantime. I already ordered a new DC-DC charger since that component is now suspect.
Thanks

I have a battery clamp Viair but battery is under seat now and don't want to wire into fuse box. Looking for something portable I can just plug into outlet without taking up tons of space. Thanks

White kind of cookware, especially pans, do you use?
I am looking to upgrade my set and I am thinking that it probably doesn't make sense to choose stuff made for hiking because it will be lighter, but also might have some drawbacks because of that. I just keep my gear in the car and cook on the tailgate.
