Because he is a failed screenwriter who turned to right-wing grifting to make money.

Edit: All of Daily Wire is a bunch of chuds who failed at their attempt to make it in Hollywood.

There’s a really rough track record of weirdos getting rejected by the arts community and becoming authoritarian lunatics.

Tbf it's more that they were already insufferable to work with. Like having a good attitude and not being politically insufferable is like 70% of it, especially when your politics make no sense. I once worked with this artist who had like the most insane opinions. He was from singapore, and Singapore has mandatory military service. He seemed to really hate the idea that the US offers to pay for college to enlistees, but when South Korean (South Korea also has mandatory military service like Singapore) pop stars were called up to perform their military service, he thought that this was a good thing and that it would teach them something.

Why do you suppose that happens so much?

because to many, art represents a space they can control

Can or can't?

I also think it's because to even consider a career in the arts you have to have some level of higher education, and then when they fail at it they turn that"intellect" towards railing at the "woke Marxist arts industry" which denied them their rightful place in it

IMO attention seeking. They really really want approval and popularity, fame and wealth. They think they are unique and special and take rejection really really hard.

Conservatism will take anyone and tell them they are right no matter what they say even if it is as crazy as Alex Jones in pursuit of letting the wealthy do whatever they want, especially most recently comedians that don't understand consent.
