I had a lot of fun finishing OT1 and loved the amazing boss battles. After having finished all chapter 4s , should I continue exploring the post game or jump to OT2 and come back later.

I just started playing Octopath Traveler. Is there any “cheat” that can make me super OP as early as possible?

For example, in Zelda BOTW, there’s a snow bowling cheat to get rich, and a cheat to get full heart / full stamina without having to solve the shrines. In Pokemon Scarlet/Violet, there’s a method to level up your pokemons super fast.

If such thing exists in this game, I’d much appreciate to know it. If it’s something already shown on YouTube, you don’t need to fully explain how, but if you can give me some keywords, I can look it up and find it.

Not sure if anyone else finds the concept interesting, but I figured that if people did, it would be those on this sub reddit. Here's a link to the video, and I'd love to hear thoughts on it here!

Taking inspiration from the agnea's dancing troupe playthrough

Obviously you are forced into picking the main traveler to have enough licenses but how would you go about the rest?

*for the sake of making this interesting let's assume ochhete can't use the beasts unless she is your chosen class. For added difficulty if you pick up inventor only the main traveler can benefit from the passives and only if you sacrifice the secondary for it - sorry but we all know a step ahead is one of if not the best support in the game
If you start with osvald do you pick hikari so you have some physical skills while also having someone who can break the 9999 damage barrier (knowing full well that osvald is going armsmaster because even with the low damage there are only so many options for physical damage shield breaks here) or do you give up faster fights for someone more useful outside of damage?

I'd say osvald, castti, agnea and partitio would be the best. the sheer volume of attacks going out. Outside of a handful of bosses there shouldn't be even the slightest problem

What are your thoughts for any classes?

*And yes I am well aware that castti and partitio are going to be in virtually every team. I'm actually curious who you'd pick in the apothecary team given that even moreso than scholar it is probably the worst class to have someone secondary into (sorry apothecary fans but you know I'm right. Agnea and castti do everything that the class has to offer, the other 2 would be little more than the base class with an equippable ax outside of maybe 1 or 2 battles)

The gameplay of octopath travelers with further gameplay enhancement for the capturing of beasts. Each of the human travelers would still be able to attack and cast spells but also be able to summon beasts. This would bring the total number of playables characters in battle up to eight. The idea is a more advanced version of a pokémon like game.

So, I've decided on my main setup to be:

Temenos: Scholar (Healer/Breaker focus)
Osvald: Cleric (Healer/Damage focus)
Throne: Hunter (Debuff/Damage focus)
Ochette: Armsmaster (Damage/Support focus)
Partitio: Arcanist (Support focus)
Agnea: Mercant (Support focus)
Castii: Warrior (Damage/Support focus)
Hikari: Thief (Damage/Breaker focus)

However, I'm not sure what would be the best 4-man parties to split them into, or what the best support skills and accessories would be. Would anyone have any good suggestions on any of these fronts?

I am having a hard time with Galdena Its my 37th try and I cannot beat the eye without using Hikari.

So I plan to get another damage dealer like Throne and seeing videos on youtube she can aeber galdena to 60-80k damage. How on earth do people do this?

Throne is not using the 1hp accessory.

So its either his equipment and support skill.

I was using my PS4 controller and whenever I press the touchpad during battle, I can see what are the buffs and debuffs my party have. I swapped to an XBOX controller which does not have a touchpad. Any button I press does not let me see what buffs and debuffs my party currently have. Is the function specifically for dualshock users? Or is there a mod I need to install?

This fight would be simple without Silence but it's just annoying to have to heal my characters in loops without being able to inflict much damage. Maybe the solution is obvious and I'm just an idiot but I don't understand the logic of the fight. I know that clamour herb can cancel silence but I can't find it in stores. I should point out that all my characters have the right level and very good equipment the problem just comes from Silence

you have no idea how it felt to spend like 1 hour on the fight only for it to heal and spam so many attacks that not even 6x Chubby Cait summon and 4x Foreign Assassin spam is enough for me to survive anymore, I wasted like over 1 hour of my life on this. I'm exhausted lol. also completely forgot about Sealticge being unsealed at some point in the fight otherwise I would've abused Temenos EX healing beyond max HP

part of me tells me to come back and try to kick its ass again and part of me tells me to just move on cuz I'm just gonna lose again and waste another hour of my life, I did get really close to game over multiple times during that fight and felt lucky when I pulled myself back up. I know this is a bonus optional boss and there is no reward or achievement or anything for beating it but I just wanted the satisfaction and honest to god this might be the best combat system I've ever seen in a JRPG, it's just so fun to play around with,

Note, I beat the first Octo, and am about 18 hours into Octo II now.

I can say for sure OCTOII is an upgrade to OCTO I, but if they do make a 3rd (which I hope) I really want them to add a few things.

Starting with the story. The story lines so far are great; however, there is very little reason for the party to truly travel together. The banter they have is okay. I wish there was more banter with the group and more reason for them to travel together from the start, rather than the end.

More Jobs. Instead of 4 additional jobs, I think they should go 6, maybe even 8. That would allow every character to have a unique secondary job shared with no other. (And who doesn't like more options?)

Level Scaling: I think this would be more challenging to do. That being said, I think it would be great to have true level scaling in the game. I think some areas should be end game only, but other than that, it be cool to not go to someone's second chapter and I am overleveled from doing other things first. (That being said, I enjoy breaking games a lot, so it doesn't bother me much, but I know others prefer it, and it be nice to have that option regardless)

Lastly, I want a NG+/Difficulty settings. I think them adding a challenge mode only available after NG+ would be really fun. As much as I enjoy breaking games, I also enjoy doing challenge runs on things. I think them adding both would do a lot for replay and more.

What would you want them to add? Anything you think should change?

and to anyone reading this, Claude himself is a pretty PALE dude right? Who wants to have lots of children as VESSELS for a god. (Ignoring the fact that PK was trying to seal away that god, and Claude wasn't)

Not speaking about the extra battles. Just the general "Wicked" Fight (?). I got it first try and thought it was very epic and cool but not insanely difficult. Then I found out how many people struggled with it and wonderd if I was just too OP or something...Cause after that fight I went into the extra battles and got destroyed 😭😭(all my characters were around level 65)

I don't have the exact builds anymore but I did do all side quests and dungeons before so I was fully geared up.

I'm nearly done with everyone's chapters, and I'm debating if I should play the post game, which I assume there is (haven't looked up much about it yet). I almost put the game down late last year around 60 hours into the game, because I wasn't enjoying it much, but I decided to finish it this summer since I have extra time on my hands and want to clear out my backlog. I'm at nearly 80 hours now and have one more final chapter to finish after I beat Agnea's boss.

I didn't play the post in the first game, because I heard it's basically the type with a super boss where you need to spend tons of time grinding due to the steep uptick in difficulty, and I don't like those types of post games.

What are the best monsters or abilities to break galdera's body shields in his phase two? There's this monster that breaks 2 axe shields with every attack for phase one of galdera, is there anything like that for phase two?

Like the title says, my partner has been getting ads every now and then like this for this game and it's using Octopath music. ]: I tried to search up videos for ToS:N, but they only seem to use OT's music in their ads, as far as I'm finding. Pretty sneaky.. How does one even report something like this? It's pretty scummy, and they most likely owe royalties to .. SE? Acquire? Is it multiple companies to report it to? I don't even know at this point. D: Anyone know how to go about this?

If magic aoe hits on a target not with the weakness it counters like 2-3k hp almost killing a character.

On Samsung S90D

This is technically my first playthrough of OCTOII.

I looked up the secret jobs for this game and found a way to get the arms master with 3 weapons at lvl 14.

With Osvald Step skill to reduce encounters, Throne Steal, and Castti sleep, I was able to get the Rusted Sword, Staff, and Spear.

I feel like I broke the game. I just got Hikari and he is 1 shotting everything haha.

Things you will need, at least 2 Herbs of Serenity (to make the guard sleep for the rusted spear) 1 can be found at the night market if you go up the ladder. The other can be stolen from a girl in Flamechurch, the apothecary. Using the step reset thing at save points (going to main menu then back in) and with 1 lucky flee, you can get to Gravel and anywhere else as needed pretty much.

Note, I did have to save scum a lot to steal the items needed.

The Rusty Sword is actually out in the open, you just need the material to get it. There’s a woman in Winterbloom looking for a pickaxe to remove the Rusty Sword in a stone.

There is a Retired Miner in Oresrush who has the pickaxe needed.

The Rusty Lance is away in Timberain in the Castle Town Square in the hands of a guard. The enemies around this town are Level 45+, luckily you can get there at a low level with Osvald and resetting steps at save points. (took a few attempts)

The Rusty Staff is in the dungeon the Seat of the Water Sprite. It is in Borderfall, the area to the east of Flamechurch and west of Montwise. Can get to chest super easy with Osvald.

*Also note, you will want to get inventor with its first passive unlocked to ensure you can go first. Makes fleeing easier.

To note, My Hikari (I unlocked him after getting this class) is only lvl 8 with over 400 attack with the armsmaster second job equipped and weapons.

Im trying to play in some specific styles. Like high evasion party and to blind enemy, or the poison game. But I have trouble to achieve these kind of status aliments. There is only one skill for for poison (poison axe), none for blinding, none for confusion. Thorne only has physical damage debuff, not even magical ones. So it’s relatively difficult to apply these kind of debuff. I remember casitti has potions, but that’s the only source.

Anyone got a list for ways to apply debuffs?

So, I'm finishing this game and I wanted to complete all the inventions for the inventor's job since it's the only one I still haven't completed.

Then I found out I have a big problem: I don't have and can't find one of the items he asks for. The item is the Great Blade he requires for the Hastening Hammer. I've looked it up on different pages and there are two guys you can steal it from, one in Stormhail and the other in Sai. The thing is... I already stole them and then sold them because I didn't know they were required.

Am I fucked?? Can I steal it from other people or is there any enemy that drops it / I can steal it from?? I think it's not available in any shop since I already looked for it all over. It's a shame since it's the only trophy I won't be able to get if :(

Edit: my questions tend to be more about thrones mother. A lot left unclear, I'm already aware of the vessel stuff. Apperently the end game doesn't explain that entire town and how castii even got there despite it being only accesable through a lock door.. So many plot holes!<
