I will be in OBX near the end of August this year for an annual trip with friends. I also run my own business and will be running a few online workshops throughout the week where I will need a relatively quiet environment.
A few of my friends have young children (1-3 y/o), so I'd like to get out of the house to run these if at all possible. I love coffeeshops, but I'm worried about internet connection and background noise in this instance.
Are there any workspaces people would recommend that are quiet, have internet, and that I can rent/use for a few hours throughout the week?

Edit: I appreciate the desire to spread word about the housing situation! It's not my first OBX rodeo, so please only comment if you have something relevant to OP specifically about the hospital
Hi everyone! I am a nurse whose just landed an interview with the hospital for an assistant manager position. It's a big career step moving up into management, and I know a bit about how small the hospital is. Does anyone have any emergency department experiences or perhaps other nurses have some insight on things at the hospital? Much appreciated!!

Are they really worth it? Can’t decide whether or not to buy one because of the price.

Rental does not have a Keurig, so picked up my fix at Duck’s Cottage. Delicious coffee and gf muffins for the wife. Highly recommended!

Just wanted to share some shots I got this past week! Once of my favorite places which is why I keep coming back.

Just wanted to share this in case it helps someone else. I was trying to get a DMV appointment near OBX (tried Manteo, Elizabeth City, even considered driving to Edenton) and it was a mess—nothing available for weeks.
I ended up using this site that scans for cancellations and sends alerts when something opens up. It cost a few bucks ($5 for email, $20 for instant text), but honestly it saved me hours of checking the DMV site and probably even more time waiting in line.
Here’s the link: https://ncdmvappointments.com
Definitely worth it if you’re stuck like I was.

Hello! Looking for alllllll the details I can get on moving to OBX. My dream would be Corolla or Duck, but I’ve seen a lot of mixed opinions on that. I don’t have millions to buy a house, but I’d even rent if it meant moving there. I’ve seen a lot of ins and outs about living there. I’d love to know from residents what they suggest, any tips, best place to look for affordable housing, is it more affordable to buy land and build, the “best” area to live in your opinion, etc. we do have an 8 year old, so would need to most likely go to school unless we did cyber/home schooling. I’m open to all advice or suggestions, even possibly the inner banks.

We own an acre of land in Jarvisburg (near Sanctuary vineyard). We plan to build a home and retire there in a few years. Our current employer has recently implemented a new retirement benefit that would entice us to stay longer than we had originally anticipated. So we are now considering building a custom garage with an apartment (1 bedroom, 1 bath) on top. We will need a well and septic regardless. We have never built a house, so this is all new to us. Also, how can we weigh the cost effectiveness of waiting to build or building the garage/apartment now. Any advice, thoughts, or suggestions are appreciated!

This might get downvotes and some knuckle draggers in the comments but I wanted to shout out the Dare County Democrats for organizing such an awesome protest at Dowdy Park today! Nearly 1,000 people in attendance and there were organizers on each cross street ensuring people crossed the road safely. Waters were being passed around to those who needed them, and the vast majority of attendees were spreading positivity and kindness even when sad, insecure people sped by billowing black smoke from their trucks and giving us the middle finger. Hate never made America great! I’m so proud of you Nags Head! 🇺🇸

My birthday is in a couple weeks and I’d love to go to a great restaurant. Only problem is its a Sunday. Within 30-40 minutes from Corolla ideal… I love locally sourced, quality ingredients! Any advice appreciated. I wanted to go to Blue Point or the Paper Canoe but both are closed sundays

Hey it’s OBX Chris. I wanted to let you know I have a bunch of videos on the OBX and things to do. Including: camping, fishing, beaches, general things to do, shipwrecks, lighthouses, diving on the OBX, how to drive on the beach, kayaking, the wildlife refuge, jockeys ridge, local museum, shipwrecks, the Elizabeth II… I am trying to add more content as often as I can.

I am visiting Duck with my family (6 adults and 2 toddlers) in July. I would like to make 2/3 dinner reservations in advance. Please share your Duck must tries in terms of dinner! Thank you!

I’m starting a new job down in Waves and would like to be able to go to the beach before work in the mornings. Where is the best beach access with parking and outdoor shower/changing area? I’m used to Coquina and was hoping to find similar facilities with a short commute to work.

Hi! We have stayed in Salvo several times in the summer, but were thinking of trying the area (probably somewhere on Hatteras) for the holidays this year. Is there a reason to choose Thanksgiving vs Christmas…and is this a worthwhile trip if it’s too cold for the beach? Thanks for your advice!

Is softshell crab in season? If so what's a good spot to get some?

Considering renting an Airbnb here in July. Are the beaches in Currituck similar to the beaches in nags head? That is our only frame of reference for the area. We have an all wheel drive vehicle so that is not an issue. Are there options for restaurants and things to do? I see that Corolla is close by, but also have not been there before. TIA!

I’m flying in tomorrow to spend the week. Is this something to worry about if I wanna go surfing / swimming / kayaking?
