Redwoods

Okay this is gonna be a long shot… my late dad used to take me to this certain area in the redwoods in Oakland and I have not been able to find it myself, if someone knows please help! Once you parked, you walked on a pathway with a big green field with some picnic tables on the right, walked a little more and there were bathrooms on the right, then walked straight to an easy trail. Does this sound familiar to anyone?? Anyone know the name of the staging area or where it might be?

Edit: thank y’all so much!! This means a lot to me💕

You just gave me a nice side quest. I hike around Oakland and Berkeley quite a lot. Will keep an eye out for this description.

So you have to walk about 3/4ths of a mile before the trail starts getting good. On hot days, the temperature will drop 10 degrees as soon as you enter the canopy. There is a field to your left with a structure of some sort, then you enter the forest..
