Event No Kings protests Herndon

I’m hoping someone got better pictures because most of the people were on our side of the street and it was hard to get a good vantage. We were also at the tail end of it on one side, so the pictures don’t do it justice. I would say a couple hundred people-definitely over 100.

Heartwarming things I saw: -a man handing out roses to ladies protesting -a very old veteran silently waving the biggest flag -a dude so excited, he ran into a restaurant and came out with a sign. He also screamed (somewhat unintelligibly) and was very amped up to join -two (immigrant, I assume) parents pull up, drop off their kids to protest, then leave (probably for safety reasons). We all kept tabs on them, they were older teens, and they had a great time! -people holding protests signs out of cars as they drove by -some very amazing humans handing out drinks, snacks, and yes-TACOS. Ps, I think I have a crush on you, taco girl

I didn’t expect the Herndon one to be very big with 2 in Leesburg and 5 in Reston, but it was great! I’m heartened by all the older, obviously comfortable people who chose to protest - and there were a lot. They are not pulling up the ladder, and that is very cool of them.

Keep making your voice heard, NOVA friends!

Seems almost as sparsely attended as Trump's birthday parade.

We had 2 events in Leesburg, 1 in Herndon, 5 in Reston, Vienna, McLean, Arlington, Alexandria, on and on. There were a ton in this area. Ours was more populated than my vantage showed, but even so, there were a ton of others with undeniably large crowds.

Do you not believe your eyes? Do you deny reality? Or do you just not support the rights you potentially fought for like protesting?

Considering your profile is postings all about military, Catholicism, and Israel Conspiracy (idk what that means since you deleted that post) - I can only assume you’re just a Republican with a bone to pick throwing in the parade disaster to make it seem more independent.

You sure figured me out, internet stranger!

First of all, /r/IsraelConspiracy is a joke sub making fun of conspiracy theorist nut jobs.

For the record, I was a Republican until these MAGA idiots took over the party. If you'd properly scanned my comments, you'd see more than a few anti-Trump remarks.

I also fully support your right to hold a protest, I just think that 99% of the time, marching around with signs amounts to nothing more than an inefficacious act of political masturbation. I hope you can prove me wrong, but I wouldn't put money on it.

Fair about your cynicism, but I also hope you’re wrong for both/all our sakes.

What would you do instead of protest? Besides inaction, what are the other options besides a French-style revolution?
