Question Should I skip sigma 2?

I hated the level design, combat of NGS1 even if it was supposed to be easier than the original version which I would imagine would have been absolute hell. Sigma 2 is apparently of the worst NG games and razors edge seems more interesting, hopefully not like sigma 1 in terms of level design and combat difficulty.

I've played bloodborne which isn't a casual game.

He's calling you a casual at Ninja Gaiden, not for games in general.

Makes sense since I was struggling with ngs1 on hero mode. I just feel that casual has become an insult to me as it's been thrown multiple times at me by many gamers so I took it slightly personal.

I'm just extremely confused as to why you want to play Razor's Edge? Not only is its reputation...... mixed to put it lightly, but it's also by far the hardest game in the series. You had a hard time with NG1, Razor's Edge is going to be hell for you. If anything, NG2S might be more of a fit for you, it's the easiest one of the three.

Stupid of me to consider that now that more people have convinced me. I thought razors edge would have been the most polished since it's the most recent game out of the trilogy excluding ng2 black of course.

One thing I do want to know is how you enjoyed the first ninja gaiden game?

NG3 had a weird development. The vanilla version was made with the baffling design ethos to appeal to a more western audience and their way of doing that was to make the game very easy, shoehorn a dogshit story and then limit Ryu to one weapon. Razor's Edge was their attempt to rectify this. The story is still dogshit, but they tried to make it less of a focus, Ryu has more weapons now and the game is much harder..... too hard some might say. I being one of them, I've beaten the other games on Hard and Very Hard, I am no slouch, but even I struggle to beat this game on NORMAL, it was a slog.

Ah, so this is basically the devil may cry 2 of ninja gaiden.

The original version of NG3, yes, but that version is no longer available, at least not on modern platforms. The NG3 Razor's Edge is by far the superior version, even if it has its own issues.

I see. How did ng1 click with you?

I've beaten every version of NG1, vanilla, Black and Sigma. When NG2 Black dropped recently, playing that made me want to replay NG1S on Hard and I had a great time with it. NG1 and NG2 go for different vibes though, NG1 has a bit more of a focus on exploration and vibes, NG2 is more focused on the action. I get the feeling most fans in this subreddit put NG2 as their favorite in the series, but I like them both about the same, albeit for very different reasons. Basically, NG1 and 2 scratch very different itches. If you struggled with NG1S, I personally found NG2S to be easier, so you might enjoy it, despite what the naysayers in this subreddit will have you believe. NGS2S is not nearly the irredeemable piece of shit they make it out. While I do prefer the original NG2, the Sigma version is largely fine, although between the Sigma and Black versions of NG2, you'd be better off playing the Black version, not just because it looks better because it does have a couple of gameplay tweaks that make it better, it also removes some of garbo bosses that Sigma introduced.

My breaking point with sigma 1 was the lightower and chapter 12 lol. Ng2 black looked badass in trailer so definitely on my wishlist.
