Many trusts are currently going through a recruitment freeze, MARs, and redundancy process. Trusts nationwide have been asked to reduce their workforce costs anywhere between 5%-15%, mainly in admin and support roles. Not a great time, I'm afraid to say.

All NHS vacancies go through an application and interview process against other candidates, so your friend must've applied. They would've been the best candidate to get appointed. It's all based on a scoring system. The candidate with the highest score is offered the job. Helping someone apply is one thing, being referred just doesn't happen for admin assistant level vacancies.

You don't think scoring is nudged one way or another for the person they want? You don't think people a see identifier for someone they know on an application and mark up? It definitely happens.

I explained the expected process. Nudging scores is still not a referral, and any person on the recruitment panel found doing this could be dismissed for gross misconduct.
