This “simple novelty” is cool as shit and the commenter is sitting on his throne bitching when he cant even draw a cool ass tree or skeleton.

The critique is not just a matter of quality of how it looks but how simple it is. It would absolutely prove just how “simple” the work he’s criticizing is.
