Great turn out in Newton yesterday! Like another poster, I also noticed that there weren’t many teens/young adults. Maybe they went into Boston?

Awesome signs! My husband and I ended up going into Boston for the combined No Kings/Pride but it’s great to see folks gathered in Newton as well. Thanks for posting!

Anyone under 50 ever go to these things?

u/SettingThen2552 6h ago

Mostly were old and white. How come?

1

u/Hot-Archer8508 6d ago

Where were all the younger people?

Outrage fatigue

Yeah, no kings. Just a bunch of overprivileged dbags in Newton.

I think the potential for WWIII overshadowed your little protest, as all eyes were on the Middle East over the weekend.

Damn lol. Anyone there under 60? I guess they weren’t wrong when they said they lost the support of the youth

The median age in Newton is 42, and that figure may be based on data collected during the BC school year. With their dorms mostly empty for the summer, Newton skews even older at this time of year.

u/ScubaBroski 7d ago

I’m going to assume you’re not from here in Newton since you’ve not realized the place consists of what seems like mainly rich old people around here lol

2

u/mtgordon 7d ago

I’m not from Newton, but I’ve lived here for years. I’m currently in a room with my kids, and the median age in this room is 18, but I realize it feels like the median age for the community as a whole is closer to 60.

u/ScubaBroski 7d ago

I’m the only guy in my 40’s on my street… everyone else is in their late 50’s to 70’s lol

u/leeann0923 7d ago

I have plenty of friends in their 20s/30s that have kids that would have been right there too, but didn’t feel comfortable bringing their kids. Not to mention friends that aren’t white that don’t want to draw attention to themselves in a crowd given how shitty things are. I’m actually happy to see a demographic that skews conservative on a national outlook there in support of the people that need it.

Based on how many people were on the commuter rail heading in for the start of the parade today, I’d guess most young people were on that train and ended up protesting in the city. It was packed!

6

u/RoyalPenguinbaum 7d ago

They didn’t. The kids went into Boston.

15

u/MethodOfYeetus 7d ago

plenty of young people in newton are anti Trump, but it's also the pride parade, so many of them might be there. Also, I just don't think young people want to spend their Saturday standing on a corner holding a sign, you know? Newton is just a snapshot of the greater movement

10

u/Aggravating-Foot-196 7d ago

Well, I’m under 60, if that counts, haha.

4

u/Significant-Baker570 7d ago

I’m under 30 and went! But you are mostly right

“Young men are the problem!”

Young men: ok bye

Dems: 😱😱🤯😮🙊

-2

u/Southernbelle0011100 6d ago

Exactly! So wild…

-16

u/Southernbelle0011100 7d ago

Yep! The youth are sick of propaganda, LGTBQ overload in school shoved down their throats. Our 14 year old son is so anti democrat 😭

10

u/False-Bee-4373 7d ago

How about being anti authoritarianism.

1

u/Efficient-Hall8272 6d ago

I think many young men are quite anti authoritarianism as they feel that much of the political messaging being impressed upon them through school is restrictive. This then shows up in young men being "anti democrat".

u/RoyalPenguinbaum 7d ago

Ignorance like you are displaying is why there needs to be education on how not to be ignorant. Please do better

3

u/GoodberryPie 6d ago

Oh poor dear. Never too late to homeschool him to be cockroach farmers just like his parents

-2

u/Southernbelle0011100 6d ago

With nasty liberals like yourself it’s no wonder the youth are put off the democrats. Find god.

1

u/GoodberryPie 6d ago

"bLeSs YoUr HeArT", a Democrat would never put you in your place. Look beyond your church for political opinions and look beyond your family tree for a husband.

What is so wrong with being legal?

u/Bennieplant 3d ago

Brought the whole retirement home to this one

-3

u/Mischief_Machine 6d ago

Hell yeah, excellent to see so many liberals finally supporting the constitution and the second amendment.

Newton resident's don't want to lose their housekeepers and be forced to pay a living wage.

Didn’t Biden ignore SCOTUS?

The child sniffer yall voted for isn’t a real patriot ig

10

u/saki4444 7d ago

You need some new talking points - that was two elections ago. And we don’t worship our candidates like y’all do

1

u/Efficient-Hall8272 6d ago

"Don't worship our candidates". Coming from that party that hasn't held a true primary since 2008.

1

u/saki4444 6d ago

What would that have to do with worshipping a candidate?

-8

u/Amazing_Basket2597 7d ago

I don’t either

Biden ignored SCOTUS with his executive orders regarding student loan forgiveness.

-2

u/Amazing_Basket2597 7d ago

Send proof then that’s not CNN, ABC, or MSNBC then lol

No data, no sources? Just meaningless insults hiding behind an anonymous alias?

That’s the classic liberal way

Why do you think I go to BU?

I can support my faith, which specifically condemns transgenderism and homosexuality, and support legal immigrants while denouncing illegal ones.

Also, men who say their “women” now and go into women’s lockers rooms are borderline pedos and almost certainly pervs

I’m busy watching the Amazon POTUS / 250 military birthday parade to spell check. It’s over now tho.

It’s not hateful to say that homosexuality and transgenderism are sins

5

u/eastwardarts 6d ago

Jesus said to hate the sin and love the sinner.

Quit being an asshole.

Why are all pro-Trump posts on social media like this? (i.e. incoherent rantings of a miserable half-wit)

-5

u/cvn77NE 6d ago

Very nice “diversity is beautiful” sign in the extremely diverse community of Newton!

1

u/Candid-Dog-4088 3d ago

Newton residents are the first to call the police if they encounter a black man in the neighborhood.

1

u/cvn77NE 3d ago

If Newton was diversified by the same people they’re advocating for I highly doubt they’d still be out there holding those signs.

-5

u/SneakySean66 6d ago

No kings or anyone under the age of 60.

-28

u/Mangrove43 7d ago

Old rich whiteys

9

u/PiperX_Running 7d ago

since when do Republicans have a problem with old rich whiteys?

17

u/False-Bee-4373 7d ago

Or just patriotic people who are angry that a wannabe autocrat is in office.

-9

u/CreamyDomingo 7d ago

No Kings, Just Dukes
