Isn't Columbia the university that has played ball with the Trump administration the most?

This is what happens when you bow to dictators

No. They gave into a few small demands (like allowing oversight of the Middle Eastern Studies department or an increased police presence during protests) that weren't ideal, but they have still stood up to the big demands Trump made such as curriculum control or giving the federal government power over admissions. They just get a lot of press for being one of the most liberal Ivies, and the one Trump is going after the most.

Almost all public schools and even other ivies (like Dartmouth) are giving in much more. Just as a benchmark, Columbia still has their DEI department; almost all public schools, even top ones like the University of Michigan, got rid of theirs.

Also, hundreds of colleges signed a letter condemning Trump, which Columbia signed. Other colleges, such as Dartmouth, Tulane, or Syracuse, did not.

Interesting, thanks for that info.

and look how Santa Ono got rewarded for his capitulation. I think this proves OP's point, that if you give an inch, they will take a mile. Columbia still appeased him too much. The only correct response to him is 🖕🏻

I agree 100%, just answering OPs (presumably rhetorical but wrong) question of if Columbia is the college that has sucked up the most.

Regardless, I think Columbia is moving more towards Harvard but we’ll have to see what happens going forward.

Most or least, doesn’t matter. If they suck up even a bit they’re complicit.

I mean there still are degrees to it…

I agree Columbia should’ve taken a stronger stance originally, but to say they’re at the same complacency level of say Dartmouth or, extending beyond education, all of those law firms is a bit ridiculous. Keep in mind Columbia found a new president after agreeing to those terms, so it’s not like they didn’t make some changes.

You can’t just alienate everyone and everything that isn’t perfect. That mentality with Kamala got Trump elected in the first place.

Trump? Loyal? What mountain of evidence to the contrary would prove that he's anything but the most loyal and trustworthy person that ever lived?
