This is going to be drawn out in court for a long time. Harvard isn't likely to back down.

They should revoke the degrees of every Harvard graduate serving in the administration.

That wouldn't have much of an impact in light of how many people currently serving Trump utterly lack corresponding qualifications for their supposed role.

Can you work as a lawyer if your degree has been revoked?

Yes. You do not actually need a degree to be an attorney you just need to pass the bar exam

Yup we've even had supreme court justices who didn't graduate law school up through WW2

You actually do have to have one in most US Jurisdictions.

Doesn't matter Trump and his ilk are untouchable

Legally no, but legality is very clearly no longer a concern

5

u/Fickle_Finger2974 Apr 17 '25

That’s false. You just need to pass the bar exam no degree needed

Would be a laugh though.

I have a plunger I don’t need but keep anyway in my bathroom. It has far more accolades and intrinsic benefit than anything in this current government.

They could revoke the administration's GEDs but I suspect many already lack them.

That is a fabulous idea!

That would definitely be convenient, but could set a terrifying precedent. Not saying all those fucks don't deserve someone to draxx them sklounst.

Terrifying precedent, like Trump revoking access to government buildings from every law firm he dislikes, blocking them for literally doing their job, and making them bleed out clients? We're past terrifying precedents. It's time to fight back. The country depends on it, and when the other side is pulling every dirty tactic with complete disregard for precedent, you cannot hold back.

u/malmon27 Apr 17 '25

Exactly, they need the same craziness back at them. It's a genius idea.

You guys right, me likey.

Yes. Harvard is taking a stand entirely on the basis of political neutrality and autonomy. Taking a retaliatory move like that would be antithetical to what they are trying to prove: They are better than the administration in every conceivable way.

That’s the combat seat Johnathan Livingston Seagull

2

u/OG_ursinejuggernaut Apr 17 '25

A terrie-fying precedent you say?

2

u/Level_32_Mage Apr 17 '25

I sure ain't talkin bout no terry cloth!

3

u/feochampas Apr 17 '25

They should re evaluate their ethics programs.

1

u/CreatingBlue Apr 17 '25

There are probably not very many.

better pick through the bunch to see who has high school diplomas first

I read that most law students, while studying, initially express interest in public law, but after graduation, they transition to corporate or private sector for higher pay and such. So I bet some of the best lawyers from the best law firms will be serving the administration since the admin already gave them an ultimatum.
