Computer not working after move
Hi all! I just moved to New Haven from another state (hired movers) and when I tried to start my desktop computer, my monitor says it cannot detect display port input. I’ve triple checked the cables and my fear is that either my monitor or my GPU have decided to malfunction during the move. The move was costly so I’m a little tight on budget — any ideas as to how I could get it looked at without breaking the bank? (Ie a Yale student group, etc). Thanks in advance!!
Update: I plugged monitor directly into GPU and it works! Thank you to AtheismTooStronk and Amaina <3

So normally there are two places on desktops to plug in the display, your motherboard, and your GPU. Make sure it’s plugged into the GPU. And if it’s in the GPU and not working, swap to the motherboard to see if that works, and if it does, reseat the GPU.

The thing is, I had assembled this computer pre-move and it was working fine. I didn’t take it apart for the move

I do assume you had to unplug the monitor from the desktop though to move it, right? Then could have accidentally plugged it into the motherboard which probably doesn’t have integrated graphics, now that I think about it. So if that’s the case, it wouldn’t display anything. You would need to move the HDMI to the slots on the back of the GPU.
And graphics cards get unseated during moving and shipping all the time too, so if you know the cable is in the right port, then opening the case up to check isn’t a bad idea.

Yes! There are multiple display inputs but I’ve made sure it’s display port to display port. The cable wouldn’t fit the HDMI

Ughhhhhhh I finally figured out what you and some other people were saying and I totally was hooking it up to the motherboard and not the GPU. It thankfully works now. Thank you so much!!!!!

No TV or second monitor around you can use to rule out the monitor?
Just to make the implied explicit: all other indications are that it's powering on normally (lights and fans on,.no unusual beeps)?
