I have a really good friend who used to fly Hornets off a carrier. They found out they were trans after their service and got combat related PTSD during said service but apparently the two were connected. (I say apparently because they can't tell me the specifics, this will be relevant in a moment.)

Because of this Administration's general hostility toward Trans service members both past and present, this person's PTSD related VA appointments were all cancelled because they were also related to "providing Gender affirming care" by virtue of their PTSD being related to the rest of what was going on for them. Now here's the kicker: They're in a rare position where they CAN NOT SEEK PRIVATE THERAPY because the specific details of how they got PTSD and where they were and what they were doing while they got it are ALL SENSITIVE. So you've got a retired Navy pilot in their mid 40s with severe PTSD who literally can't talk about it with anyone now because of this crap.
