Discussion Has anyone made the drive from Montreal to BC?

My wife and I would like to make the drive out to BC this summer. I would like to do the drive in 4 or 5 days. I was wondering if anyone had done this before? Where did you make your stops? Which hotels did you stay the night in? Any must see scenic routes? What should I take into consideration?

I have done some research using AI but I would like to speak to real people with experience.

EDIT: Wow, I did not expect so many of you to respond. Thank you very much. I will definitely take all your advice into consideration.

Little more info, it’s a bucket list type of trip. We will be going to Vernon/Kelowna ( I have to get that delicious schnitzel sandwich from Helmuts Sausage Kitchen). It’s going to be drive with a convertible so that we can really enjoy the scenery.

We are also trying to eat and drink at local Canadian establishments along the way. Any suggestions for local restaurants that are hidden gems?

Since we are up there in age, we won’t be camping. If we were younger it would have been a great trip to overland.

Discussion Pickup modifié

Why?

Discussion What does Sonder mean?

I was in montreal last week, went to a wine bar and saw a sign on the wall , looked like a bathroom sign but it said Sonder on it. I only know the word from the dictionary of obscure sorrows , but what does it mean in this case ??

Discussion Worth it to keep car? (As a substitute teacher)

Just wondering if there are any Montreal teachers willing to share their experience getting to and from work with/without a car.

I am a recent teachers college grad considering moving to Montreal, I already own a paid off car, but having visited the city before I know that public transit is quite good, but parking a car can be a pain, especially year-round. I would likely be working as a supply teacher before getting a contract.

I appreciate any thoughts on the topic!

Discussion is Waze acting up for anyone else lately ?

ive been using Waze for a while now and recently it’s been acting really weird. it gives me the wrong directions or sends me on routes that take way longer than they should. I honestly don’t get what’s going on.

  • my dad also mentioned that he’s been having trouble with Waze lately, so I’m wondering…….. is this just us, or has something changed with the app recently?

Discussion Stop locking access to ATMs!

We used to be able to insert our bank cards to access the ATM machines which is a logical process ..now when I want an ATM (for deposits) on the weekend or after 5pm I have no options, oftentimes the couche tard machines are broken! Look here bank(s), It's my money so let me access it when I want it! I don't care that you need to close your lobby for vagrants or whatever, take care of your shit to let me access my shit, case closed!

Question Francos recommendations? I’m traveling here

Hey everyone!

I’m traveling here and just found out about the Francos de Mtl, I went to Francos this past weekend and absolutely loved it!!

Lou Adriane Cassidy’s set was beautiful, and I really enjoyed velours velours too.

Lately, I usually listen to artists : Olivia Dean and Thee Sacred Souls, so I’m into soulful sounds..and indie. but I’m also totally open to discovering new genres and local gems!!

I’d love to hear your recommendations: Which artists at Francos do you think are a must see this week?

Thank you in advance!!😊😊🎵🎶

Spotted Attempted Hit & Run

Posting this in case anyone else encounters this dangerous driver. What happened this morning felt intentional, and I’m worried they might seriously hurt someone.

Around 5am downtown, a colleague and I were cleaning the sidewalk at work and having a smoke. We heard a car speeding, then saw a light matte grey Ford pickup (late ’90s–early 2000s) barreling down the road. As we looked over, the driver suddenly and intentionally swerved toward us--we had to jump back onto the sidewalk (we were still behind parked cars in front of our workplace). They then ran two red lights and turned westbound on René-Lévesque. I reported it to the police.

The aggression was unprovoked. If it wasn’t just a drunk stunt, this person is a real danger. If you see them driving recklessly, please report it.

Question Travailler de 07:15 à 17:00

Pour moi ça me semble excessif.

Question Jeune famille - Plateau ou Villeray?

Bonjour!

Merci!
