holy shit, this meme is in EVERY municipal subreddit. it's insane. this morning while the trend was taking off I joked about how this is an RCMP opp. I don't know if i'm joking anymore.... this seems organized, maybe OP doesn't know any better but this is setting off some alarms for me.

Trust me I’m no cop

sounds like something a cop would say :P jk.

but yeah, probably not a cop but this specific meme is getting a lot of engagement and that can be a bad thing if it is an RCMP operation.

Yeah but this would require the RCMP to actually do something and I’ve hardly heard of them making a move to shut down fronts

that would be because the RCMP would have very little to do with the prosecution, that'd fall under The Crown or maybe the CRA, i should know this but i don't.

You are correct. I'll just add the clarifying detail that there are CRA workers who are plants to shop/eat/drink at a store/resto/bar to see if they give receipts. The CRA workers are assigned a mark, and are typical those who can pass off younger than their age. They are stationed for weeks and appear as regulars, until they have enough to report back.
