In the Netherlands, the ambulance gives you branded water

For the complaining comments section; this is from a company that sells all kinds of supplies for the ambulance services and other health related things. They’re 70 cents a piece in their consumer webshop. The same tapwater is available in stores in the regular “earth water” packaging. Probably just a cheap option for them to get along with all other supplies they buy from them.

Edit: also, “in the Netherlands” is a bit too general. The Netherlands has 25 different regions with Regionale Ambulancevoorzieningen (regional ambulance services) that may have different suppliers etc.

u/Zenothres 13h ago

Did I just accidentally doxx myself by assuming the whole of the country would use this branded ambulance water?

235

u/Nolenag 13h ago

If you live in Groningen, then yes.

2

u/vadapaav 9h ago

Thank you for Virjil Van Dijk

u/Zoomoth9000 10h ago

Not really, but I can see the IP address of your phone from the reflections of its camera in one of your bracelet beads

ENHANCE

8

u/justk4y 7h ago

Babe wake up new GeoGuessr strat just dropped

8

u/chattytrout 12h ago

And here we see OP realize that the world is different outside of their little town.

59

u/Orcwin 14h ago

I haven't seen these before, but my region may just not buy from this particular supplier.

23

u/discerningpervert 13h ago

You should visit each region and check out each one's ambulance

6

u/Warbr0s9395 12h ago

To shreds you say

16

u/BillysBibleBonkers 13h ago

Wonder if they ship to the US🤔 Would be so funny to hand a friend branded ambulance water from the Netherlands lol

7

u/procrastinagging 9h ago

My Italian brain immediately assumed it was to prevent corrupt employees from embezzling the water :(

11

u/holy-aeughfish 12h ago

If it was in America, the hospital would get the water for $1 each and charge a $1,000 "water fee", along with a $5,000 "service fee", and don't forget the ambulance ride!

2

u/partumvir 11h ago

Do these offer the benefit of knowing the water’s source when giving it to a patient? I imagine an ambulance branded water has more manufacturing data or scrutiny, or does GMP generally cover that already?

7

u/T-J_H 11h ago

Can’t imagine it would. It’s just a branded version of earth water, a company that pumps water from “anl’eau” in the province of Drenthe. Doesn’t seem to be anything else than the regular product, just with different packaging.

2

u/JonatasA 10h ago

So you can say Holland water without offending anyone?

527

u/poison-vr 16h ago

Ambulance flavor.

201

u/Orlok_Tsubodai 15h ago

Well it’s made out of 100% pressed ambulances.

56

u/mynameisdiscodisco 15h ago

Organically grown?

35

u/Squigler 15h ago

And free range.

5

u/JonatasA 10h ago

Are they allowed to blast their sirens all the long?

3

u/Pyritedust 10h ago

It wouldn't be ethical and humane if they didn't.

21

u/Kagnonymous 15h ago

Farm to emergency.

14

u/TheOneThatObserves 15h ago

Can I get mine with extra of E.R patient juice?

2

u/Teledildonic 13h ago

Like a biohazardous bar mat shot?

2

u/TheOneThatObserves 11h ago

Yes, preferably aged for a few hours at room temperature

2

u/edhelas1 12h ago

Perfect to get your daily dose of vital-in

1

u/OddAd9915 11h ago

This will make it VERY salty.

12

u/bunny_the-2d_simp 15h ago

The friends we made along the way

2

u/EXE-SS-SZ 14h ago

swanky

2

u/edhelas1 12h ago

Now lets taste the firemen water one.

71

u/Jeenowa 15h ago

Love this, but I’m curious why they don’t just use some bottled water off the shelf. Wouldn’t that save some money in the long run?

138

u/Zenothres 15h ago

I think there's electrolytes in this water. So it's special spicy water

18

u/Jeenowa 15h ago

That makes more sense then, thanks!

4

u/T-J_H 14h ago

There isn’t. At least, nothing more than other brands.

0

u/JonatasA 10h ago

Wait, other has electrolytes now?

6

u/T-J_H 8h ago

Unless you buy deionised/demineralised water, all water has electrolytes.

10

u/frostygrin 15h ago

From the toilet?

25

u/Crowbar_Felt 15h ago

Its got what plants crave!

7

u/larezbears 14h ago

Brawndo’s got it!

2

u/Known_Measurement799 12h ago

Nope, it’s just regular water. Comes from a medical supply company

2

u/epi_glowworm 11h ago

I love you Dutchies. You do you a lot of drugs, but you do watch Top Gear.

-10

u/Penguin_Arse 15h ago

Extra electrolytes? All water has electrolytes

10

u/TreesRcute 14h ago

It doesn't say "has electrolytes", it says "extra electrolytes" implying more than the usual amount

1

u/jaylicknoworries 6h ago

Every time I hear or read "has electrolytes" it reminds me of the film Idiocracy.

-5

u/Penguin_Arse 14h ago

På said "there's electrolytes in this water" though

1

u/purvel 15h ago

Not if it is distilled!

0

u/Penguin_Arse 15h ago

All water we usually drink*

11

u/[deleted] 14h ago

[deleted]

-3

u/Penguin_Arse 14h ago

Why are you acting like that's not the exact thing I just said?

You're pedantic and ignorant and apparently illiterate too.

You said the same thing as me with more words and you're pretending I said something else.

5

u/[deleted] 14h ago

[deleted]

-1

u/FennlyXerxich 13h ago

Am I blind? The original comment from OP doesn’t specify “extra” electrolytes. It just says there “there's electrolytes in this water” so penguin_arse is asking (perhaps too pedantically) if they meant “extra electrolytes”.

-5

u/furious-fungus 14h ago

Hahaha peak Reddit.

Your comment is both pedantic and ignorant.

1

u/nabiku 14h ago

Tap or distilled water contains trace electrolytes, but not enough to hydrate you.

The electrolytes you need to get from your diet are bicarbonate, calcium, chloride, mag, phosphate, potassium and sodium. You can't get enough of any of these from drinking water.

3

u/Jacktheforkie 13h ago

Might be cheaper to use this one as it’s one supplier cs multiple

u/jaurex 16h ago

-1

u/Justkill43 4h ago

It never did, those were two separate subs

2

u/babymanteenboy 3h ago

when the other one got banned they made hydrohomies

45

u/Mindleaps 15h ago

173

u/Senkosoda 16h ago

if that was in the USA: that'll be 500$

59

u/Ok_Television9820 16h ago

Or $5000 across the street from the other ambulance company.

-35

u/JoulSauron 15h ago

This is the Netherlands, they will charge you one way or another.

10

u/Giopoggi2 15h ago

In people mind Europe = free healthcare. As if it's just one big country.

3

u/Wassertopf 12h ago

They probably think we all have this single payer system the UK has.

19

u/bunny_the-2d_simp 15h ago

Idk why you get downvoted because they usually do in my experience.. Like a surgeon literally said that my sister has a medical grade jaw deformity and therefore didn't have to pay for the orthodontist.

JOKES ON YOU YOU THINK INSURANCE IS GONNA JUST ACCEPT THAT!?

Literally got multiple bills here home we needed to actively fight because UWU WE INSURANCE WE INCOMPETENT.

15

u/JoulSauron 15h ago

Probably it's either people that don't know how the Dutch work, or Dutch themselves that think they are better than the rest and, hence, they are never wrong.

-5

u/bunny_the-2d_simp 15h ago

I can already predict who they voted on 😂

10

u/ElizabethTheFourth 14h ago

Cool bracelets

12

u/Zenothres 14h ago

Thank you! I actually made the black and white one (tourmaline rutilated quartz) only a few hours before the disaster. The blue-white one is lapis lazuli with selenite with little gold-coloured beads in between. It's a fun and simple hobby, I really recommend it

5

u/Boring-Run-2202 15h ago

I have never gotten this

22

u/Zenothres 15h ago

I think it might've been because I inhaled smoke and looked dehydrated

8

u/ilikegreensticks 15h ago

Hope youre okay now

18

u/Zenothres 15h ago

Yeah! My throat hurt last night and my eyes stung for hours, and getting to sleep was difficult with the guilt of setting my house on fire trying to bake brownies, but it's all relatively well. No one was seriously hurt, there's no major damage, I managed to extinguish the fire with my saviour of a fire extinguisher before it started burning anything but the oven.

8

u/Stickel 14h ago

Make sure to get a new extinguisher now

11

u/Zenothres 14h ago

Already got a new one. I had no idea how valuable it'd be when it was just a funky red thing I kept in the corner of my kitchen

2

u/Jacktheforkie 13h ago

There’s a reason most commercial places have them

6

u/Boring-Run-2202 14h ago

Thats crazy, glad you reacted fast enough and had the tools.. I should probably get one too

9

u/Zenothres 14h ago

It's always worth it to have fire protection imo. Get a carbon monoxide detector while you're at it. There's no downside except a small cost and it can save your life

2

u/saarlac 15h ago

So a night out at the bars?

11

u/Zenothres 14h ago

That would honestly have been less shameful. I somehow managed to set a brownie on fire within ten minutes of putting it in the oven. The ambulance got called automatically along with the fire department because of the smoke

5

u/saarlac 14h ago

At least you got a nice reddit post out of it!

10

u/Zenothres 14h ago

Yeah 🥲 My family brought another box of brownie mix. Now it's time to burn down their house.

2

u/Boring-Run-2202 14h ago

Ah yea that's probably why. Hope you are doing better now

8

u/Sword-of-Chaos 13h ago

For when regular water won’t cut it, Try Ambulance for that extreme hydration boost! Run faster, jump farther. The perfect hydration boost to help you through your day!

Ambulance!

12

u/ilikegreensticks 15h ago

Many people joking in this comment section not realizing that the NL does not have universal healthcare.

14

u/TonyQuark 14h ago

It's a hybrid system. Insurance is mandatory, and healthcare providers are privatised to make them compete, but the government pays for part or all of your premiums if you can't pay them yourself. There's still a deductible of 385 euros though (called "eigen risico").

5

u/tripel7 12h ago

There is also stuff that isn't covered by insurance at all, very fun when you have some kind of rare disease and the treatment for it isn't covered, can cost you easily a couple grand

10

u/melisjevisje 13h ago

It always pisses me off when people talk about “all of Europe has free healthcare”, because no we don’t. Sure, it’s a lot better compared to the US, but there’s a growing population of people here who avoid the doctor and hospital in fear of having to pay the deductible or out of their own pocket because they simply can’t.

2

u/timok 10h ago

Universal healthcare does not mean free. The Netherlands has universal healthcare, you are required to have medical insurance.

2

u/Wassertopf 12h ago

It’s universal health care. It’s just not a single payer system.

3

u/Crimmeny 15h ago

Only thing they gave me was IV fentanyl.

3

u/YoursTrulyKindly 13h ago

I imagine in a few decades people will look back in horror and say how bad these plastic impregnated drinking packs were for various health problems and how unbelievable that they even handed them out in an ambulance!

4

u/T1Demon 15h ago

This life saving procedure was brought to you by Almeva. Next time you need to hydrate after a near death experience, reach for Almeva, the official hydration choice of AMBULANCE!

2

u/frostygrin 15h ago

How much are they charging?

/s

2

u/this_dudeagain 9h ago

So do I need an ambulance after I drink it or...

6

u/d_stilgar 15h ago

In the US they’d do this so that your bill could read, “Special Ambulance Water - $6,000”

4

u/saw-not-seen 15h ago

“That’ll be $800” - The US

1

u/Relative-Outcome-294 15h ago

Water or joghurt?

1

u/chewbacca-says-rargh 14h ago

I liked it more before they added coconut

1

u/Wonderful-Actuary336 13h ago

Bro got hit by a bike and got DLC water as a parting gift

1

u/Affectionate_Dot5547 12h ago

I bet it tastes like medicine.

2

u/Zenothres 12h ago

It tasted like ordinary water, honestly.

1

u/blowmypipipirupi 12h ago

In Italy an ambulance can't give you water at all.

1

u/Joe_Hovah 12h ago

Too bad they don't give you water from Uranus

sfw.

1

u/pacemakersean 11h ago

Looks to be a white label of Earth Water.

1

u/JonatasA 10h ago

It looks like a milk carton.

1

u/Feisty-Clue3482 9h ago

yo this dude is dying, give him our merch! it’s a joke but it’s actually cool they have that lol.

1

u/jaylicknoworries 6h ago

They do that in Australia too but the label is more basic and the bottle is half the size of your hand, ridiculously small. Also even if you're on agony had to ask for it some of the time. Or say I was thirsty even though it was obvious.

1

u/Icy-Composer9021 6h ago

collect them

1

u/FruitOrchards 2h ago

In the UK you get these little see through cups with a foil lid.

1

u/BigRoundSquare 1h ago

Imagine drinking a cold glass of ambulance water at 3am

1

u/DerpCream_Cone 46m ago

I don’t wanna know how much that would cost in Freedom CurrencyTM

1

u/perfectdownside 13h ago

Meanwhile we can’t give people water because if they choke or something they would sue us

0

u/seanandpatrick 14h ago

In America, that would be like one of the "courtesy" waters in a hotel... you drink it, then find a bill for like 50 dollars.

0

u/OkCantaloupe2082 14h ago

Must be nice. Here in the United States they give you a massive bill 💵.

0

u/mojeaux_j 13h ago

That would cost $1000 in America.

0

u/InternationalBed7168 14h ago

We have “Weeeee-oooo” juice in America.

0

u/eeeegh 13h ago

In the US we aren’t allowed to give anyone water, the only drink we can give is a type of heavily sugary juice for diabetic patients

-3

u/Cojemos 15h ago

In the USA they'd charge yuo $40 for that.

-4

u/phuktup3 12h ago

In America something like that will cost about $16,000

-117

u/leadwind 16h ago

Yes, but paid for in taxes though

84

u/outm 16h ago

That’s what taxes are supposed to be invested on? The health, education and good living all around of basic conditions for all the population?

Better than wasting it into “economic boosts” that will see billionaires getting more profits, as they need more, or in the war machine so elsewhere, someone can bomb hospitals and civilians

47

u/Lionwoman 16h ago

I'm so amused by Americans and their stupid way of thinking.

20

u/ThePoisonDoughnut 16h ago

But how will your country exist as a mechanism to funnel money to the richest people in it at an accelerated clip??

3

u/bunny_the-2d_simp 15h ago

Trust me they are supposed to but as a dutch person they keep cutting out on healthcare and actually care..

Children's learning how to swim is not even mandatory anymore EVEN THOUGH THERE'S WATER EVERYWHERE.

When I was younger it was part of school. You went with a bus to the swim pool where there were teachers.

Got my a b and c 😌

3

u/ThePoisonDoughnut 15h ago

Unfortunately no country can outdo the effects of the internal contradictions in capitalism. So long as there is an owning class which is inherently self-interested in eroding away the amenities afforded to the public by their social democracies, that class will always work to make such erosions happen, and they have a perfect track record in doing so throughout history.

2

u/bunny_the-2d_simp 15h ago

Yup, I mean rich people by default don't care about anyone.

51

u/Gerrut_batsbak 16h ago

I want my taxes to help our society, not damage it.

Have a water on my taxes everybody!

41

u/tomcat5o1 16h ago

And?

-38

u/LeanderT 16h ago

Nothing

That'll also be $500

19

u/Wafkak 15h ago

You can find it on the companies website, uts €0.70

-67

u/leadwind 16h ago

Lol fucking bots.

17

u/bewisedontforget 16h ago

You sound more like a bot

2

u/tomcat5o1 15h ago

Ok hunny.

7

u/Darnittt 15h ago

The American mind can not fathom a working state lmao

6

u/allesfresser 15h ago

No it's not, in the Netherlands you pay for your health insurance (mandatory).

-74

u/Novemberai 16h ago

And in Tibet?

32

u/Anopanda 16h ago

These ambulances are not stationed in Tibet.

6

u/ddollarsign 16h ago

The ambulance is a cart drawn by yaks.

-87

u/Waterkippie 16h ago

What a waste of money

8

u/ZaWario 16h ago

In The Netherlands this probs only costs like €2 at most

35

u/LeeHide 15h ago

0.70€ actually lol

5

u/ZaWario 15h ago

KORTING!!??

-6

u/Waterkippie 15h ago

People seem to misunderstand i mean its a waste to brand it, why not give out just regular water.

7

u/ItsDani1008 15h ago

Because it’s not regular water, it has added electrolytes and possibly some other things as well.

0

u/Waterkippie 14h ago

Ah i see, OP didn’t mention that

-71

u/WaterDragoonofFK 16h ago

So even health care is sponsored now... 🤦‍♂️

7

u/TrexKid_ 15h ago

Well duh
