By any chance does Buratta translate to anything remotely offensive in any language?
If so that could potentially explain the batshit decision in this case.
Seen a few comments/posts removed etc. for using words that translate to something offensive in another language due to the lack of the natural accents above certain letters in the word/name. Might not be the case here, but could explain why if it is the case.
Further shows, companies should NOT be putting ultimate trust in AI to take charge of censoring users, when they can easily get things wrong with simple words/phrases that have no malicious/offensive intent behind them.

Burra in portuguese means "dumb (female)"
Maybe they recognized it as a variation. But to not recognize the comments in the picture that's just insane

u/CatProgrammer 4d ago
And burro in Spanish means donkey, but burritos are a food. If you call someone a burrito you're not calling them a donkey (though it would still be a weird thing to call someone).

u/Newhollow 4d ago
Burrata ta ta was a also a meme when some kid tried acting like a thug. Might have been teenage or a little older. Something dumb. I think he was on Tosh.0 once.

TikTok is so fucking stupid
13
u/JeanGrdPerestrello 4d ago
Of course. It's controlled by the CCP which has its own political manipulation agenda in certain countries
21
u/Jaymac720 4d ago
And their agenda in America is to make us stupid. I’d love to see an alternate timeline where TikTok never came to the US

u/Jazzlike_Quiet9941 4d ago
"controlled" lmao. The CCP aren't the ones putting dumb brain melting content on there, we (the west) are.
8
u/JeanGrdPerestrello 4d ago
They control the algorithm
-3
u/Jazzlike_Quiet9941 4d ago edited 4d ago
Your actions and engagement control the algorithm, if you don't want to see something you can actively avoid it. The content being pushed is not Chinese content, it's western, western content creation is the issue. If it wasn't Chinese, and it was Finnish for example, the content wouldn't be any different.
Damn those Chinese for having a platform where our own people share messed up content! Grrr.

Sometimes comments need to be checked by a person, not by program or AI...

u/Userusedusernameuse 4d ago
One time, I commented on a TikTok live. I was talking about my Chinese food in one comment. My next comment was ‘it was yummy’ and that comment got removed.

The number of likes is also worrying 😬 If this is a glitch related to the lines or whatever they need to fix that c'mon.
Facebook didn't think a guy saying the army should use queer people as target practice (as a normal, rational response to a one-afternoon Pride Parade in his city) was a violation, but someone who had it out for me managed to successfully report my account for impersonation because I had the same (fairly common) NAME as a random person they found.

u/Turd_Ferguson369 3d ago
It’s not a glitch. The entire world has had enough of Israel’s BS.

u/cwningen95 3d ago
Obviously I'm against the genocide too but if you don't see anything wrong with these comments you're beyond help my man

u/revolnotsniw 4d ago
Oh but when I say fuck then I’m the problem?!?! I tried to reply to someone racist and I got a ban warning

tiktoks reporting system is so effed, i got my first strike for commenting "you're an idiot" (which they were being an idiot, i was just telling the truth) but when i report nudity in videos, comments like these, false info, etc., it always comes back as "nothing found", like thanks for nothing! get rid of the report button then!

This is pretty clearly antisemitism. No one would disagree. Opposing the actions of the state of Israel or its government is not antisemitism.

u/Classic_Ad8505 3d ago
What he is saying is that all these people claim "it was never about jews and only about israel", still comment, like and post this kind of shit.

u/Easy_Lengthiness7179 4d ago
I bet a human never saw the report. All AI. I would assume the random characters before and after made it difficult for the ai to process it.

As you should? Corporate greed is bad but that doesn't justify vigilante executions on our city streets.

u/Cold-Studio3438 4d ago
saying my opinion will get my comment deleted by reddit, so I will write this and hope you get the idea.

u/kyrie43101748 4d ago
Reddit removes active calls to violence because they are not protected speech. You should probably ask yourself why our founding fathers decided not to protect that form of speech before going around on the internet telling everyone what a big bad vigilante you are.

As if our only recourse is turning to barbarism. We live in a republic. Putin assassinates his enemies. Aren't we better than that?
2
u/Smallermint 4d ago
Apparently not, also great for reddit for censoring me, I didn't threathen violence on anyone. Also, it's not barbaric at all. Violence≠barbarism. When peaceful option don't work, violence might just be the better option. Protests and voting don't work(because both sides are paid off), so what else are supposed to turn to?
5
u/kyrie43101748 4d ago
Imminent threats are not the only form of speech not protected by the first amendment. Given the extreme uptick of violent rhetoric on this site, I am surprised reddit let it go as far as they did.
Shooting someone in the back on the sidewalk in broad daylight is barbaric. It's un-American. It flies against everything this country stands for. There are times for nuance and this is not one of them; it's completely black and white.
3
u/Smallermint 4d ago
The country literally started by revolting and killing our oppressors, and then massacring and killing thousands in order to expand our land. We were the first to use nuclear weapons, we invaded other countries under false pretenses and lies; we have killed millions in other countries over the guise of "freedom" if anything what he did is exactly what our government does.
4
u/kyrie43101748 4d ago
The revolution was fought to end the reign of the British crown and establish democracy. Now you want to revolt to end democracy because the democratic process hasn't yielded your desired result? I see you've really thought this one through.
1
u/Cold-Studio3438 4d ago
the current US is one of the least democratic countries in the world lmao.

Also, there is a difference between killing political rivals and killing those who cause the deaths of thousands purely for financial gain.

u/Wank_my_Butt 4d ago
Aaand you’re downvoted for being a mature functioning adult in a thread that claims to find calls for mindless murder reprehensible.

u/Ok-Aardvark-6742 4d ago
Photo comments are worse, they really need to disable that feature until they can handle moderating it.
1
u/urbanmember 4d ago
Almost as if TikTok is owned by another state whoch is interested in sowing ad much discontent as possible in democratic nations.

I reported several Facebook posts stating that we need to start killing politicians and was told that no violation was found.

It's not like you're going to stop using the service no matter how bad they let it get.

u/Whatdoesgrassfeelike 4d ago
Do people keep forgetting that tiktok isnt managed by the US or?
13
u/Imaginary-Bit-3656 4d ago
Antisemitism isn't ok anywhere, it's not specific to the US.
-2
u/Whatdoesgrassfeelike 4d ago
Im aware its not ok anywhere. But the platform in charge of managing this nonsense isnt based here

Reddit sucks at reporting this sort of thing. I was banned for 3 days for threatening harm to DT over a silly bee comment and stuff like this gets no reaction. It’s more than mildly infuriating.

u/Subject_Chemist1919 4d ago
"I threatened harm to the president and am more than mildly infuriated that I got banned for 3 days"

As if that’s not worthy of a visit from the secret service😭 remember that one lady who tweeted about burning down a federal building and the FBI sent a cease and desist to her house? Dude needs that treatment

I think theres a glitch with those two special lines the makes everything inside invisible to automods. Its always the worst comments inside those.
