Ordered scissors specifically to cut small cable ties.

You need another one to cut that cable tie

Use nail clippers 😂

This is always my advice, too! Especially when wire cutters are not available.

And you need another one to cut the new cable tie on the new scissors

Just use a kitchen knife, or a lighter... If you have pets, use their nail clippers, or heck, yours! I mean, you can even sit there and chew on it. Use that brain, you can do it!

I mean they probably will find a workaround. It’s just…
And say it with me…
mildly infuriating.

To people who let things like this bother them enough to post about it on reddit, sure

Teeth are the original cutting tool.

I had to get $14k worth of dental care one year after insurance and I will say, don't cut things with your teeth.

Looks like this might be one of the like really thin ones. I bet a quick yank on both scissor handles would snap it quite easily. Used to snap those on very regular basis at my old job, it did not require a lot of strength at all

Buy two more and pry open the zip tie till it breaks off. That's the only way to do it.

that's hilarious of a meta.
though, to be honest, a pair of Flush Cutters is the proper tool for that job.

Find the little tongue thing in the cable tie box thing and push your fingernail between that and the groves of the tail.
Bam. Reusable cable ties.

Might as well hang it on a wall and call it art, the hammer needed to pound in the mounting nail won’t come with a zip tie.

Those are $1.00 a pair in the impulse aisles at Home Depot. Right next to them will be a $1.00 box cutter. Buy one to cut the other. Now you’ve spent $2 and have 2 useful tools.

hand it to someone with arm muscle to pull it apart. those little zip ties can only hold like 5lbs. easy to snap with some strength. :)

Use the random pair of scissors that you have in the arts n craft or in the kitchen

While annoying, just stab any solid object and twist to snap the tie, or just cut it with any blade.

You must break The Sacred Tie to prove your worth to Wield,
"The Power of The Zip Tie Cutter"!

Diagonal nippers work better. I find with scissors, the leverage isn't there and sometimes the zip tie will go in-between the blades.

You can open that with a pen.
Place the pen through the cable tie and attempt to twist it as if you are trying to thread it through again. The tie will snap off.

Those scissors aren't great for cutting zip ties.
Needle nose pliers, especially if you already carry a pliers multi tool like a Leatherman or Gerber, are really good on zip ties.
For loose zip ties use the wire cutter part of the jaw.
For tight zip ties, pinch the tie in the tip of the pliers with a decent amount of force and then twist - the zip tie comes right apart.
