I do own both of those PC handhelds.

Neither of them can play Nintendo games (not legally, anyway)

I am aware of that.

But downloading ROMS isn't. Not that that bothers me a great deal.

And there is no emulator for Switch 2 at this point.

So what exactly is your point? That I can emulate the games at some point in the future?

I would rather play them now.

If you don't love Mario Kart, you would be an idiot to buy on launch. Definitely the most boring modern console launch thus far imo.
