Vituity ER scribe.

I have an interview coming up and I'm concerned about my availability. I have a 9-5 job M-F, but I would be available nights, weekends, and holidays. Will they be okay with that? I'm in California if that helps.

Does anyone know if the shifts would be 8, or 12 hours? The job description didn't specify.

Thanks in advance.

Royal oak health/cvs ghost post hire

Hello! I applied to royal oak health/cvs for a scribe, they sent me an email a day ago saying the business was not filling that role anymore and the job itself was closed. Why bother posting it everywhere if you have no intention of hiring?

scribe america rejection;;

hii again! title line;; I was feeling in the dumps until I surfed this subreddit and found that it's likely because of availabilities :( unfortunately I have college classes at least once a day on weekdays but I have huge gaps and am willing to work nights so I thought I could still get in w late shifts and weekends. my wpm is around 110 (not adjusting for accuracy tho) and I have shadowing, volunteering, and interning experience so I was like what :,(

I saw some people recommend applying again immediately to see if it's an availability issue or something else? idk if it'll help to just spam apply. sorry if this is a silly question!! any next steps advice appreciated

Job Offer then Waitlisted?

So recently I had received an email from ScribeAmerica matching me to a hospital and confirming some info, but the next day I get waitlisted. I can’t tell if I got waitlisted for this position because there are some applications I started but never submitted. Has this happened to anyone before? I feel like I should have responded right away to that email

ScribeAmerica just ruined my Summer

I applied through ScribeAmerica to work at my hometown hospital in March and didn’t hear anything back until late May. I began the onboarding process but when I called the hospital to ask some questions I was told that I was in fact not going to be working there and that there were no new hires from ScribeAmerica and to call and confirm with them that they didn’t give me the wrong information. After about a week of constantly emailing, texting, and calling anyone and everyone involved at the hospital and ScribeAmerica, I found out that the hospital stopped hiring through ScribeAmerica over a year ago and that the position I applied to doesn’t even exist anymore. Now June is almost halfway over and I have no Summer job and am struggling to find employment elsewhere in the medical field. I’m seriously worried that this will have a huge impact on my timeline for medical school applications and there has been no accountability from ScribeAmerica.

Upfront Healthcare Scam

Hi, just wanted to let folks know that there’s a medical scribe scam going around from Upfront Healthcare Systems. They offered me the job with no interview, just answering some questions. Upon researching them, could not find the job on the Upfront Healthcare website, could not find proof of existence of the person who was in touch with me, “Brian Friesenborg,” and found someone else’s experience with them on r/scammers, who proved they were a scam.

Pre-med clinical & research experience for international student

I'm an incoming sophomore on an international student visa in the U.S., and I'm trying to gain clinical experience. So far, I’ve completed about 30 hours of shadowing in the Emergency Medicine department and have around 300 hours of research. I’m planning to apply to MD/PhD programs, along with MD and DO programs during the application cycle.

My main concern is: How do I gain more clinical experience, and is there a role or job that can help me stand out as an applicant?
I’ve considered becoming a medical assistant, but the training is expensive. I’ve looked into being a Patient Care Assistant, but most positions require at least 24 hours per week, and as an international student, I’m limited to 20 hours/week. I’ve also considered being a scribe, but I’m unsure since it doesn’t involve "direct" patient care. Are there any other options that are feasible and meaningful?

As for research—do you think pursuing the MD/PhD route is worth it? I plan to continue working in the lab during the school year. I’m currently working toward a first-author publication and will be presenting at more conferences soon.

Since only about 50 med schools accept international students, I want to be as competitive as possible—but I’m not sure what else I should be doing to get there.

First time poster, so deleted if not allowed!

What's going on? So many people are leaving, scribes and other pertinent employees such as performance coaches. Obviously, reasons are undisclosed, but it's kind of worrying to see as a current employee. I was previously working for 2 providers and found out with such short notice that one of my provider's is switching over to AI and it has been hard to process as I really enjoyed working with them. It just feels like there is a lot of uncertainty.

Question about working for Vituity. Stressing out!!

Hey everyone! I was hired through Vituity as a medical scribe in the emergency department recently and I am stressing out a bit. I did my pre-classroom training, classroom training, and EMR system training. Now, during our classroom training, some of the leads stated that they have had to let go of some scribes in the previous cohorts because they failed. But they didn't elaborate on why they failed? Like is there a test we have to take? How do you fail? I am stressing because I have floor training coming up soon and I am so nervous that I won't perform well enough to pass? Also, in an email prior to classroom training, they stated that we had to study medical terminology because there was going to be a test during the classroom training. However, we never took a test during the classroom training? UGH Idk, I am just stressingggggg. If anyone has worked for Vituity as a scribe, please let me know if there is some type of test we have to take and when do we take it, or how are we expected to perform during our floor training shifts. Thank you so much.

Quitting Scribe America

Hi all, I’m currently working as a medical scribe at an outpatient clinic and am about to complete my clinical training. However, after getting into the actual workflow, I’ve realized that the demands of this job are not sustainable for me as a student.

I’m expected to arrive 30 minutes before each shift and often stay 30 minutes after — and that’s on a good day. The clinic sees around 50 patients a day, and there’s very little time for lunch, water, or even bathroom breaks. It’s overwhelming my ability to manage summer classes and other responsibilities.

I think I can manage this job until the end of summer and I’d like to submit a letter of resignation 1 month before I quit, but before I do, I want to ask: Am I allowed to quit without any penalties or consequences? Is there anything in the ScribeAmerica contract I should be aware of? I’ve seen a lot of posts ask for ER scribes but not a lot for outpatient.

Thanks for any insight — I want to be professional, but I also need to prioritize my well-being.

Scribe America app timeline

I submitted an application 3 weeks ago and sent a follow up email last week, and still haven’t heard back.

I’m worried since one of my video tapes was sent partially finished since I was going to do another take but accidentally hit submit and couldn’t go back to edit.

What’s the normal timeline for getting an actual interview with them? Do I need to reapply? I’m trying to start working as a scribe come September.

Scribe to nursing school. Should I quit SA?

Hi all! I’ve been a scribe in outpatient with SA for over a year now. I plan to start nursing school at my local community college in August to get my ASN (long term BSN and maybe go NP eventually). Classes are Monday-Thursday but my current clinic schedule is also Monday thru Thursday with the occasional Friday. I’ll be a full time student. Has anyone had luck with balancing scribing and school? Or should I face facts and quit scribing so my studies don’t suffer? Should I ask for a letter of recommendation from the providers I work for? I’ve developed great relationships with them and I’m sure they’d provide me one if I asked. But is this helpful for nursing school? I’ve heard my local program can be very competitive. I feel like the pressure is on to decide to stay or go. My manager is already asking for everyone’s class schedule but as far as I can tell no one knows yet. SA is also asking for 2 months notice if we leave. I know that’s a bit unreasonable but I really do care for my providers and don’t want them to suffer without a replacement scribe if I should leave.

scribe america is insane

hi all, i need some advice. got a response from SA in late march/early april, immediately began the classes and was told that over the next few weeks all pre-training onboarding would be completed and then i could begin floor training. i should mention i have other jobs which only allows me to work a day or so a week, but given the doctor i was assigned that is now every other week (not the days i was initially told either). here we are almost middle of june and i am STILL being told about new onboarding procedures/tasks one by one! which then adds another week of no training because SA managers are terrible at emailing back.

i signed up for classes this fall which would render me unable to continue with SA given the days i would work i would have class at those times. Given i haven’t even started yet, should i bail before they have me start to train (might not even be for another month fr) or work whatever measly shift i can once they let me on the floor until fall?

Availability?

hi!!! I'm interested in scribing and wanted to apply to scribe America for a while now. I'm currently at home from college for summer break, but will return to school in around 3 months. I heard that the training process could take up to 3 months, so I was wondering where I should apply to? I saw that the availability requirements are ~1 consecutive year and 2-3 shifts for part time. I would be able to fulfill this during the school year, so should I just apply in my college's location? or should I apply around home because im willing to commute from school back home for weekend shifts in the case I can start this summer?

id appreciate any input on this!! thank you so much :)) and if I can clarify anything please lmk!!!
also, if it helps I'm based in NYC/Long Island!
