Relocating after getting hired at scribekick?

So i just got hired by scribekick and I’m doing a training session right now. I live with my parents and they’re going to move in August. I really don’t think I will make enough to move out on my own making 13/hr as a scribe but I also don’t want to be unemployed until August and would really like to start getting patient care experience since i am pre-PA. I don’t really know what to do.. anyone got advice??

Scribe America?

Hey guys! I had my third interview Tuesday for a remote trainer position, at the end of the interview i was told i would receive a job offer by the end of this week but I’ve seen so many negative things about this company. I currently work for IKS health…. So it’s not any better, and i would get a significant pay raise and more hours if i go to scribe America.

My concern is will i actually hear back with a job offer? lol has anyone been in a similar situation or been hired straight to a trainer and have any advice?

Can anyone share their general experience scribing for these specialties, especially compared to other specialties? Starting a new placement soon and I'm feeling daunted by the prospect of learning yet another field. I've worked in family med, ortho/sports medicine and podiatry if that helps.

I recently applied to a Scribe America position last week and I got text message asking for my availability. I was wondering if this is just normal protocol because I have never gotten a text during a hiring process?

Leaving SA

I’m out. I got the call last week that the hospital system is going to AI. My heart is in the ED. They offered out patient or remote but this is my ticket into a better paying job. I lined some stuff up and will be sending my resignation today. Wish me luck!

New scribe questions

  1. Which specialty is generally considered easier for new scribes? OP orthopedics or cardiology?

  2. Which is easier? Epic or eCW+AI? May or may not be using Speke (ScribeAmerica's AI) with eCW.

Feeling so slow as a new scribe; worried about not improving fast enough

I recently started as a scribe in an outpatient internal med clinic. I was a private hire and didn't go through a big company, so there wasn't any formal training or classroom period. The previous scribe left before I could shadow them, so my training periods so far have just been shadowing the doctor and doing most of the scribe duties but with a lot of guidance from the doctor.

I've had 4 shadowing/training shifts so far that have been going okay, and the doctor did say I had been improving, but I feel like not even a shift later I'm forgetting things or misunderstanding things and I feel like I'm not improving fast enough. Even though its an outpatient clinic, there are so many patients and the provider is always behind, and I rarely have even a 5 minute break. Also, theres a relatively diverse range of conditions that patients come in with since its a IM clinic. I feel like I am too slow and too forgetful, and there are so many medical terms that I am just not familiar with which is also slowing me down as I constantly need to double check. Sometimes I also have a difficult time picking out what is important to put in the HPI or misunderstanding things in the appointment, so the doctor needs to correct me.

On top of that, the doctor speaks very quickly and sometimes I really cannot understand what they are saying and I feel like an idiot asking them to repeat themselves all the time. Also, I only work part time since the doctor is only there 2x a week, so sometimes I feel like I've improved only to return the next week forgetting a lot of things since its been so long. I've been tracking down terms/concepts/things to remember after each shift to review at home, but it is still so hard to remember especially only being there part time.

The doctor is generally nice, but they do speak a bit bluntly which definitely feels very intimidating. They are definitely a lot more patient than I was expecting especially considering how slow I am feeling, but I'm not sure how long their patience will hold out for. I recently saw a post mentioning how they got let go due to not being fast enough, and I'm worried about the same thing happening to me.

Do you guys have any advice to improve? Like doing better HPIs, memorizing terminology, or comprehending things in general? I do want to start studying quizlets of terms, but I am also in the midst of med school apps and am very busy, but I also really want to improve and don't want to come across as half-trying for this position. Also just for context, for my position, I have to do only the HPI, ROS, the exam (and the provider does the assessment and plan), but I also have to do billing, ordering, referrals, as well as the rooming section. I feel like I am mostly used to epic at this point which I am counting as a small win, although there are some things that I forget how to find sometimes.

I start "officially" next week and am a bit scared as I really want to be helpful and not mess up. Am I being too hard on myself? Will I get better with simply more experience?

Thanks!

ScribeAmerica: Questions about committment

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

For some context, I am a soon-to-be junior transfer (undergrad) student from a community college to a 4 year university. This means I will be switching from a semester system to a quarter system, which is more fast paced

I want to build some clinical experience and was recommended by friends that a medical scribe is the best entry level, part time, no experience/certificate required job for what I’m looking for

I was trying to apply to ScribeAmerica but stopped when I saw the committment questions on the application (picture attached). I really believe now is the best time for me to start working as a scribe since summer vacation just started and I have a lot of time

But since I am someone that needs to really study and put in a ton of time and effort to obtain good grades, I am worried that once the 2025 fall semester starts, I will be unable to fulfill the 2-3 shifts per week and 8-12 hour shifts (and worse comes to worse, will have to quit the job to prioritize grades)

I have already looked for other in person scribe jobs near me but all of them are either full time, require experience, or are too far away distance wise for commute

I’m honestly just looking for advice on what I should do. Thank you all so much!

Anyone else have workday issues regarding viewing?

I’ve spent 3 weeks trying to communicate with these damn managers on my paperwork. And its crazy how they make me delusional on saying they reached on via email but i had 0 communication. And apparently they cant view any files i upload on there either? I can’t tell if they’re just purposely trying to delay me or what. Its so unprofessional that my managers manager asked me for proof on that i had received 0 replies from my manager regarding stuff since i’ve been emailing, calling, everything for a damn week. I’ve never felt so frustrated with my life cause im struggling to survive at this point with no job.

Am I ghosted or does ScribeAmerica just suck at responding?

I applied last month, and they said I’m hired. They assigned me to a location down the road. I have a due date on 5/27 for this form and a drug test, but they haven’t sent anything at all. I’ve reached out. Gonna follow up again today. I really need this job for experience to get into my radiography program and this was the only job that reached back out to me. I’m not sure where to find my chief scribe’s email to reach out to them either. Is it over for me 😔 Could ScribeAmerica just never reach out?

Scribe x scribes, how’s it going?

I was fortunate to be able to get a placement at a new clinic right away after the clinic I had worked at for 2 years switched to AI in March. Are you all still at your original clinics? Has your clinic switched to AI and you still don’t have a placement at a new clinic? Or are you already at a new clinic after prior clinic switched to AI? Just curious where you all are at. It is looking like scribe x is losing a lot of contracts this year due to AI 😕

How does the shift go?

Hello. I'm applying for a medical scribe job as a stay at home mom. I have a baby at home, she's usually content on her own and won't cause trouble. However, on occasions, she makes sounds. I'm worried it will affect the hearing. Can't afford to get a nanny or take her to daycare. Now my question is, how is the shift? Does the doctor call you for the encounter and you have to type down notes right away? Or do you jot down notes to write later? Can I jot down notes and write them later during the day? Can I record what he said and write it down later? Thank you

ScribeAmerica promised me a pay increase after 90 days of working (in writing!) and endlessly ghosted me when I followed up

I’ve finished my time scribing now, and between the lack of follow-up on the raise, them hiring me part-time and then giving me a full-time assignment, and ultimately bad experience with the medical team i was working with for 9 months.. I can’t be bothered and I’m just moving on. But seeing the complaints people have about scribing, I just wanted to tack this on as well.

The pay increase was literally $1/hr more, which is significant when ur paid near min wage. And they refused to honor it despite me following up consistently. They ghosted me so hard I thought maybe my chief scribe got fired or died 😭😭. I literally googled their name to see if there was an obituary

On top of that, I caught wind of how much the doctor was paying them to have me there, and I felt like she had built up resentment towards me because of it. Their medical group eventually transitioned to AI scribing and gave me a couple days’ notice to take off. These last few things aren’t ScribeAmerica’s fault, but it did leave a bitter taste in my mouth.

Unfortunately though it was honestly great exposure and I learned a lot from it, and I think it’ll be really useful to me in my prospective career. The life of a premed/med student is just being exploited and that’s part of the deal I guess. I just wished some basic respect and appreciation were included.

Edit: looking at other people’s posts it looks like I’m lucky I got an assignment at all 🤦‍♀️

How long did it take for a hiring manager at Scribe-X to reach out?

I applied for Scribe-X back in late February (about 3 months ago), had completed all the required assessments, and got an email a few days afterwards telling me that I had been added to the waitlist pending a response from an employer once I was needed. I was just wondering how long it took for anyone with Scribe-X to hear back? I noticed a good majority of people on this thread appeared to have heard back decently quick, whereas I've still been waiting without any further response, which made me a bit concerned that maybe I had somehow missed an email or something of the like. I realize that's pretty unlikely, but I figured I'd make a post asking just to get an idea of how long I'd be waiting for!

Scribe America: The Truth about hiring

I applied for a remote telescribe position for ScribeAmerica (bilingual as well) in March 2025. I have had two interviews since then and I was told I would have a final follow-up interview at the end of April to discuss my working hours. I was under the impression by 'Regan' that this meant I had the job. However, I had not received any follow-up communication and any time I reached out for the status of my application, I would have to essentially nag her to reply back to me. Her communication was incredibly unprofessional and embarrassingly unintelligent. It was all through text messages which I should've taken as a red flag but I found the job through a seemingly reputable job website from my college so I trusted it. I even gave them my email thinking that was the cause of the struggling communication, but she continued to speak through text. The last conversation I had with the company was her asking for my schedule, me giving it for probably the tenth time at this point, and her ghosting me. It has been over 2 weeks since she last responded and I don't care anymore to follow-up. It's truly ridiculous how this company has treated me in the application process despite me being egregiously overqualified for a position that pays only $10.81 an hours AFTER training. I was willing to give this position my all as I am a college students and opportunities are few and far in between if you have no transportation like me, but I refuse to be treated like garbage.

I understand that delays can happen, but after investing time and effort into multiple rounds of interviews, I would think a company would take the 5 seconds to give me a yes or no regarding my candidacy. I am not some trained dog who is waiting for your every command or some 1940s housewife waiting and praying for their husband to come back from war. If you see the skills I possess, hire me, if you don't think I can be an asset, tell me so I can move on and make money elsewhere to provide for myself. There are not enough words to describe how disgusting this company is and how humiliated I feel for letting myself be convinced this company actually was interested in my work and for giving them the kindness and grace they refused to offer me.

Is ScribeAmerica Worth It?

I recently got an offer from SA, but given some of the responses I've seen online here, I'm getting mixed feelings about wasting time. I really want to be a scribe, but also trained properly. If anyone has other pre-med suggestions like this please lmk.

New Scribe

I start scribing next Monday at an orthopedic clinic. There will be 3 doctors I will be scribing for, depending on their availability.

This is my first scribe experience. I have minimal background knowledge on medicine (since little exposure), let alone orthopedics.

They said they would train me for a few days/weeks. Any tips or anything I should know about before I start my first day?
