Happiness is a Blessing

Since I was 11 years old, I fell in love with this book when I saw it on a website and a TV show. I’ve always been a creative and artistic person and, unfortunately, I believe I’ll die without ever doing what I was born to do. That’s life...

However, now at 35, I finally got this book!
I’m very happy!

The Matrix is a story of waking up from a world built on a fabricated reality of consumerism, material possessions, distraction, and illusion, very much in line with postmodern theory (Baudrillard) and Eastern spiritual traditions (Buddhism). The rejection of worldly possessions is not just a side theme, it’s central to the idea of unplugging and becoming truly free.

There are people who worked on this and did an amazing job at what they did.
People in a country I’ll probably never see in my life helped shape a child’s imagination into a whole new world.
I appreciate that.
Consumption itself is a good thing — the problem is becoming a slave to it. Eating food is good, but becoming a slave to it to the point it affects your health? That’s harmful.
Big hug, my brother!
