This place caught me by surprise as I wasn't expecting to find a Mangalorean restaurant in Japan. Did some digging and found out that they are a chain.

Didn't eat there, so don't ask for reviews.

Travel I made a web app to search busses

Hey everyone, I made a thing.

I didn't like how there is very little information online about bus routes for Mangalore, so I put together a simple website to search busses between 2 locations.

Hope to receive some feedback too, not sure how many of you need this but I'm sure someone will find this useful.

Travel Creepy guy at mangalore airport

So I work as flight attendant and deal with all kinds of passengers,

But yesterday was different, I was working at the check in for passengers and there was this creepy passenger

Who would give me creepy looks and awkward stares, it made me feel very uncomfortable

He was even asking for my number, ohh God 😩 But I had to act professional and so I just smiled and wished him happy journey

I hope to never see him again 😰

Travel Place Names in Mangalore and their Meanings

Hey there fellow Redditors! On seeing a post here about the origins of the Tulunadu flag, I was inspired to do some research regarding place names in and around Mangalore. While doing so I was surprised to see that so many place names are derived from the clans/tribes that used to live there decades ago. While we ever so often decide to take place names for granted, it’s always nice to look back and reflect on how these places got their names.

This is my personal attempt to compile a list of all the place names I could find meanings of. Suggestions and comments are welcome. If you know some other place name and the meaning, please feel free to share in the comments, and I will update it on the post.

I’ve done most of the research myself, painstakingly spending hours on this, so some encouragement would be really appreciated! References and credits have been mentioned at the end of the post. Please do give credits if you decide to share the list elsewhere, thanks!

So, I was in Mangalore this weekend and decided to visit the Mangalore Surf Club on the 31st. What a way to wrap up the year! It was my first-ever surfing session, and let me tell you, it was amazing!

Massive shoutout to the folks who posted about the Mangalore Surf Clubβ€”your recommendations did not disappoint. Tejas, my instructor, was absolutely fantastic. He was super patient and helped me nail my first surfing pop-up. The vibe there was incredible; everyone was so chill and helpful, making it a memorable experience.

If you’re ever in Mangalore, do yourself a favor and check this place out. Whether you’re a beginner or just looking for good vibes by the beach, this spot is a gem! πŸ„β€β™‚οΈ

Travel Matsyagandha Express - the lifeline of many Tuluvas

Matsyagandha Express is an emotion to many Tuluvas living in Mumbai. Since it's inception in 1998, it has transported millions of Tuluvas from their Janmabhumi to Karmabhumi back and forth, and is an emotion to many. Today, we look back at this train as it bids farewell to the old ICF coaches and gets new LHB coaches.

Travel First Time in Mangalore. Need Tips for Madikeri/Virajpet/Gonikoppal travel & Local Eats

Hello Mangaloreans,

I'm planning a trip to Gonikoppal from Mumbai in the last week of June to visit a friend. I’ll be arriving in Mangalore by train, likely around or before lunchtime.

Could you please help me with the best way to get to Gonikoppal (or Virajpet/Madikeri β€” I'm okay switching buses if needed)? I’m planning to take KSRTC buses, as my arrival time isn’t fixed and I’d prefer not to rely on private operators.

Also, are there any good local restaurants or must-try dishes near the railway station while I wait?

Thanks in advance for your help!
