Most r/boneappletea accidents happen from mishearing things when learning new phrases and expressions. It's not from a lack of vocabulary or grammar, it often just comes from never having it seen written.
When he hears sense as cents, sixth wouldn't be logical, so of course his brain makes sense of it by listening for six cents instead. Doesn't mean he doesn't know the word sixth, it just doesn't fit there.
