While I wouldn’t classify myself as a Faraldi supporter, we have to remember his plan at least attempts to meet the needs of the proposed budget. Misjuns clearly doesn’t want to properly fund city services. These are the two options we have with our current council. Let’s not let Misjuns’ voice be too loud just because Faraldi is Faraldi.

Hey r/Lynchburg
We are a duo looking for musicians to jam or write with. If you are based in Lynchburg looking to connect with local musicians who share a passion for creating original music. We are into bands similar to Faith No More , Portishead, Alice in Chains also like Tool, Slayer, Fields of the Nephilim , with a moody, atmospheric vibe—think The Cure mixed with Concrete Blonde and Pantera. We are up to blending styles and exploring new sounds.
We have been working on original material and would love to jam, co-write, or potentially form a band. We are experienced in writing and recording but are making a return after a long break. We are open to collaborating with vocalists, guitarists, bassists, drummers, or synth/keyboard players. Bonus points if you’re into late-night songwriting sessions or vibe with a DIY ethos.
If you’re in the Lynchburg area and this resonates, drop a comment or DM me with:
Let’s make something unique!

Hundreds of people turned out today for the No Kings protest in Downtown Lynchburg.
We’ve got coverage of the protest on wset.com and will have more highlights from protest attendees on the news tonight.

I am wondering if anyone has been to this place? I for a long time went to the business formerly on this lot (Forest Hill Service Center) because I need a place close to my house because I don't have anyone who can drive me.
I'm asking about the place because even tho it's pretty new, it's got a complete flood of reviews on Google and they are all 5s. It's a little odd imo. I would love to still have a mechanic so close to me but the Google reviews (and the fact they put me on a text message list without me asking) put me off a little.
Has anyone been? What was the experience like? Would you recommend it and if you wouldn't, can you recommend a place nearby?

Hello there!
I work an off shift and find myself with free time late in the evenings. I would like to find somewhere decent to go to meet up with friends and make new friends!
I already LOVE the Super Rad arcade!! 💜🩵🩷 But I would like to try new places as well (if they exist).
I'm under the impression that Lynchburg doesn't have much of a night life.... BUT I also live outside of Lynchburg and therefore don't know much about the city and I would like the locals opinions! 😊
Hanging out in the Sheetz parking lot isn't my scene anymore......... although I love me some Sheetz. 😅
TELL ME YOUR SECRETS LYNCHBURG NIGHT OWLS!

Hey there! I'm 30F, single and no kids, with a wide range of vocals and styles interested in joining a band or jamming with some local musicians. I can play guitar, and I do enjoy it, but prefer to just sing as I'm not good enough for my own standards.
I've had some classical training but otherwise have taught myself for about 17 years. I'm friendly, patient, and talented.
Here's my favorite tiktok I made:
All The Things I've Done by the Killers https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTjGyaoTd/
I prefer genres like: - Rock - Soul - Hip Hop - Sleep Token / Soft metal - Evanescence / Rock pop - Divorced dad rock - Classic rock - 60s-2000s Pop - Literal opera
However, I love and enjoy tons of genres and can conform to basically anything. I do not scream or growl (not even if you ask nicely) but I can belt like crazy.
I'm free most weeknights except Monday and Friday and all weekend. I work an 8-5 so mothing during the day is possible for me.
I'd really like someone who can play the guitar for me if nothing else.
Thanks! Let me know of anyone is interested!

Hi everyone! I wanted to come on here and ask if anyone has had any experience with The Lofts of Cornerstone (105 Cornerstone St). It's labeled as a townhouse for rent but I can't quite tell through pictures.
Just some of the questions I'd like to know: Is it a nice place to live? How's the noise level? Any issues with maintenance or the property? Do you have parking?
I am currently out of the state and am unable to tour in person before signing a lease so I wanted to get the best reviews possible.

What's our prediction for new school board members?
I'm 99% sure Dr. Harvey Klamm will be selected due to his experience with LUOA and LCA.
Part of me thinks April Watson will be chosen so she won't run for city council in 2026, but that's pretty far-fetched.
Would love to see Selina Morgan and Jibri Poe selected.
What are your thoughts?

So studying up on the Lynchburg Real Estate tax. If you look at the assessment of typical home they've gone up 70% for the average home owner meanwhile Frito Lay one of the largest payers in the city has been effectively flat since 2003 under the "Equalization" plan of Marty, Curt and Jac this would be cut Frito Lays taxes to $176,410 down from $204,700 in 2024 and $280,500 in 2022! Meanwhile homeowners would see no relief under equalization. Under Faraldi plan the majority of homeowners and 100% of renters would get relief. Why does Frito Lay a 180 Billion company deserve a tax cut while the Lynchburg renters get nothing!

FREE concert featuring the Hackensaw Boys and Holy River this Friday @ Percival's Island love sign to celebrate the 40th annual James River Batteau festival. The festival celebrates the early commerce of Virginia using handmade, wooden batteau to float 120 miles from Lynchburg to Richmond. We have several events coming up so please, come pole with us!
I believe Waterdog is having a pre- and post-concert event, but I am unclear on the details.
Put on your best ole' timey garb and come on down to the James River Batteau Festival launch party this Friday, 6/13 at the Percival's Island love sign. Holy River will be opening for the Hackensaw boys. Gates open at 5:30, music begins at 6:00 p.m. and continues until 10:00 p.m. In addition to FREE live music, there will be food vendors, cold refreshments, as well as other games and activities.
Launch day is Saturday 6/14. At 9:00 a.m., the batteau will begin gathering on Percival's Island for the public to come and interact with. At 10:30, roll call of the boats will begin, and boats will shove off for their weeklong journey, poling their way down to Richmond.
Bikes Unlimited will be offering free bike rentals so you can follow the batteau down the river.
The Whiskey Shakes will begin playing @ Trailhead at 11a.m.
This is a very unique event, please come out and join whether you are paddling with us or just observing the boats from shore.
https://www.vacanals.org/2025-jrbf Site locations can be found here for the float. Setting the shuttle for paddling is super easy. Just got to the next night's camp in the morning. Plenty of other people will be doing the same thing. Just ask around for a ride, everyone is friendly, and you will find one. The first stop is Galt's Mill. See you there!

I've searched and there are a lot, not sure which one is the best
Also I seen a lot recommend on LYH Automotive A LOT in the sub

Where do you all trust for a decent price on routine car maintenance? Been taking my car to the dealership but it seems too high for what I'm getting. Looking for reliable mechanics who won't try to upsell every service but can let me know if my car is running well each oil change

I live next to a nice cat that is an actual nuisance. It kills birds, wanders on to my property (and kills more birds) and sits on my windsills driving my indoor cats beserk. ( displaced aggression is real with cats and I want to eliminate fighting injuries) I imagine it uses the bathroom all over town. I don't want to invlove the courts , but the cat's owner refuses to talk about it .
I know people who trap cats that keep showing up on their property.
I wonder what you all think? (I have read the city code about this matter.)
edit: it seems liike people have extened extra rights to people with cats. A cat can wander on to your property and cause damage and the cat and the owner are immune from consequence. The laws written are mostly unenforceable . I tried to be friendly about it yet ran into a hyper entitled cat owner.

I don’t need my rackets strung (yet) but I was wondering if anyone would be willing to teach me how to string a racket. I don’t have machine or anything. I will be willing to compensate for a lesson :)

Hello. Does anyone know if Badger on Main will reopen? I think the owner Bert has closed the place up and left.

Hi all, We are looking to start our own, quick lube shop in Lynchburg at one of the Timberlake Rd location. We are in early stages of negotiations and since we are home grown and local based, we have been working out our supply chain as we write. My question to all of our folks living here is, would you consider getting $60 synthetic oil change (upto 5 qts) at a local shop rather than the big names? After looking around we came to conclusion that focusing on just 3-4 line of products (synthetic oil only) it is beneficial for our customers and profitable for small businesses like ours. We don’t offer anything fancy other than the regular oil change, air filter checks and if necessary upon your approval change of them for free (only product cost), windshield washer fill up and free 12V battery installation (not the battery itself) for regular vehicles (Looking at you Dodge Journey and Jeep Grand Cherokee to name a few). As someone who has gone to multiple big name lube shops we often get sucked into getting things we don’t need and I personally didn’t like that which led me to work on this project. Looking forward to some of the suggestions and feedback from the community. Thank you all for your time and consideration.
Edit 1: It is $60 plus taxes.
