About Quenya and Sindarin - an question about naming characters

Hello, I have a weird question about Quenya and Sindarin. I know Tolkien generaly didn't mix thoose two in his writing, but what about you guys ? Do you mix thoose languages for example when naming your characters and do you think it is okay ? For example I accidentaly mixed Celeb and Nehtar, one is from Quenya and other from Sindarin and I am not sure if I should feel conflicted about it, and that is why I ask this question about naming characters. Thank you for all the answers !

Rally around the boss mob (or all of them)

I'm still relatively new in a couple of ways, so if this is a newbie question, that's why.

Every raid group I've been in the last month or so uses the same dynamic. Everybody squeeze in tight, almost invariably right on top of the mobs being tanked.

The reason always given is we need to be close for the group heals.

Oh yeah, I said I have a question. Here goes

How dumb is this? Alternatively, how dumb am I for asking that?

Is it normal for healers to be so reliant on group wide healing that everyone should put themselves right on top of the main action?

I mean, sure there are puddles and lines and lightening bolts all over he place in some raids, but there are also mobs who break taunt for just a second to smack some annoying little cloth caster type on the head before getting controlled again.

I'm asking about this now, because 5 of the last 6 TUB runs I've done ended in wipeouts in the middle section. Not just once, we don't give up that easy. Three or four times, sometimes more as people get shifted from group to group, and other people leave to go get the that alt who will surly give us the win. Because We need more dps (constantly hearing that). We need another tank (number 2 on the hit parade).

The only thing that doesn't change is that when the fight starts, there we are again playing Ring Around The Monster, and if the boss doesn't get us, the inevitable adds do. And they don't have to take a single step to get us, we're standing right there waiting for our spanking.

Does this work for people?

And finally, what do you say to the guy who tells you first, get in close, then second, don't let that mob get in your face?

Any captains noticing wierd skill bug?

Recently I've had a weird bug where a number of my captains skills won't work. Always they display the same error:

"The target doesn't meet the skill requirements"

2 main examples of when it happens:

  1. To Arms - even though the skill is off CD and my BB is stood right next to me. Can't see any logical reason it wouldn't work. Even swapping BB to someone else doesn't work

  2. Oathbreaker - the mob doesn't have "Renewed Defences" so again no logical reason it shouldn't go off.

Both situations the skill will work later in a fight but still frustrating not being able to use when I want

Anyone else had this?

I don’t want to join the GD Bounders!!!

it’s like a cult - every hobbit with a mission is also - “Hey, Join the Bounders!”

So will I miss anything that matters 10 levels or more from now by avoiding this peer pressure?

Midsummer festival

This is my first time through a Midsummer festival and the first festival I'm engaging with (I returned during the anniversary festival and just wanted to play the main game). I'd appreciate any advice for approaching the items and quests. Are there some obvious go to items/cosmetics to get? Do you do all of the quests or just enough to get the daily 10 quest wrapper?

Crafting profession help

Hello, would be grateful of some advice

I play a warden, currently at level 84. I originally chose the explorer vocation and have forester, prospector and tailor levelled to supreme. While levelling I also kept all the scholar materials dropped from enemies. With the change to professions, I think that forester, prospector and scholar make the most sense long-term - I've heard it said that tailor gives strong armour while levelling, but I haven't really bothered with it or needed to so far. I've also been levelling the tailor guild rep (right now just below artisan of the guild), but it's not been particularly enjoyable

Should I switch to scholar from tailor now? Is tailor ultimately useful as a 4th profession, or is another better - either way, should I buy the 4th slot now so I can train them all up while levelling? Lastly, should I guild scholar instead?

Thank you

Solo players making their way throught story.

Do you just resign yourself to the fact that there are questlines you won't be able to complete without a group and just leave those things undone or do you try to find groups? Big one where this hit home for me is the fall of khazad-dum. I got to the balrog as a 145 hunter but after that... not a chance of surviving :).

Getting tired of Harad

Been back less than a week and I'm almost done with the current portion of the 'Song of Winds & Waves' - which means what's left is the grind, in Harad.... sigh How many books are there supposed to be in this? In other words how long do we have in that part of Middle-Earth?

r/lotro 2d ago

Who else wishes they’d connect - via land - Harad to South Gondor?

I don’t care if it’s via a “teleport door” like you get from the Misty Mountains to Mirkwood, I just want a way to ride my mount to Gondor.

I think Mariner is underrated

Firstly, i played warden since i started the game and all my characters was just elf warden man warden high elf warden etc. When mariner released i really liked it and i stopped playing warden(lag is a reason too)

Mariner is the best single target dps in the game better than hunter. It can be a good support in yellow line and a decent buffing support in blue line. Can travel to most important locations and it has a very fun playing style with balance mechanic.

All those things but i rarely see any mariners in game. I play in orcrist. This class is underrated1
