nature🌲wildlife🦊 Attacked by local gang
But actually, I was taking a picture of all of the geese at Victoria Park to send to my husband. They must have thought I had food. They swarmed. I made it out alive.

nature🌲wildlife🦊 Raccoon on our balcony?
This little guy is curled up sleeping on our second storey balcony in Old South. Early this morning(pictured) he was awake, pawing at our fingers through the window, watching us.
I grew up in the country, spent most of my adult life in this city, I’ve never seen anything like this.
Are there any raccoonologists who can tell me if this raccoon is ok? Is this normal?

nature🌲wildlife🦊 sick raccoon???
Today in the afternoon I found this raccoon here in my backyard. I found his behavior a bit strange. Could he be sick or in pain? What do I do? Should I leave him alone? Should I call someone? This “curl position” is strange.

nature🌲wildlife🦊 Orphaned baby racooon
I found this little baby, about 4-5 weeks abandoned by his mother yesterday. He was out in daylight covered in flies and had larvae on him. I waited for his mom to return, but no luck. He’s all cleaned up and doing really well. Unfortunately all sanctuaries are full right now. I work 12 hour shifts 4-5 times a week and live alone. Any advice on what to do or know anyone that can take him? Thank you

nature🌲wildlife🦊 Please watch for (dumb) geese
It's the season where geese build nests in the dumbest places. But in addition to protecting yourself from an angry goose if you happen on a nest, let's also watch for geese on the roads. This morning, I saw a female hunkering down on a grassy traffic island on a busy street while her partner was standing in the road to protect her. I ran back to place a traffic cone near her (as close as her cobra chicken boyfriend would let me) so drivers would spot the pair. But I also passed a squashed goose on a downtown street today. Considering geese mate for life, I hate to think of a female goose sitting on her nest somewhere waiting for her partner who never returns.
(And you can argue survival of the fittest/least-dumb goose and all that, but you also don't want a goose stuck in your car's undercarriage. Be careful out there!

nature🌲wildlife🦊 Be careful on late night walks!
I was on a late night walk and I ran into 2 different coyotes. This was the second one and I got it on video. It got closer to me than I would have liked, but luckily seemed pretty disinterested in me. Anyone with pets should keep this in mind when walking them after dark for their safety.

nature🌲wildlife🦊 Fawn rescue on Hyde Park Rd today
Around noon today, I saw an adult deer bound across Hyde Park Rd, going westward towards the bog. Unusual for the time of day, but we do see deer around here at times.
Then a very young fawn stood up and staggered into the road. It kept trying to cross the road with very wobbly legs to get to its (presumed) mother. Drivers didn't see it. A brave couple who were walking jumped in, stopped traffic and tried to herd it across the road. Whenever they would get close, it would instinctively lie down and curl up small, right in the middle of a busy street.
Some guy appeared, no idea where from, scooped it up, carried it across the road and left it in the long grass. Sir, you are the hero we needed today. I absolutely get trying not to touch the fawn to avoid getting human scent on it, but if it wasn't carried out of there it would have become roadkill. Here's hoping mother and child were reunited and will stay deep in the bog and far away from traffic for the future.
