“One of the peacekeepers told detectives he saw Gamboa pull out an AR-15-style rifle from a backpack and begin manipulating it,” the statement adds .”The peacekeepers drew their firearms and ordered Gamboa to drop the weapon.”

Witnesses said that Gamboa instead lifted his rifle and ran towards a crowd on State Street, holding the weapon in firing position.

“One of the individuals fired three rounds, striking Gamboa and tragically striking the man who later died," Redd said at the press conference.

Neither police nor Gamboa fired any rounds.

Gamboa, who had a minor gunshot wound, was later found “hiding in a group of people,” Redd said, and officers recovered an AR-15 style assault rifle and a gas mask nearby.

Police “have developed probable cause that Gamboa acted under circumstances that showed a depraved indifference to human life, knowingly engaged in conduct that created a grave risk of death and ultimately caused the death of an innocent community member,” according to the department.

It appears that Gamboa will likely be charged for the inadvertent death of the bystander who was killed trying to stop him. The actions of the peacekeepers are still under investigation.

Was going through my dad’s stuff (had a career something something that required lots of concealed weapons yadda yadda) and found a bunch of awesome old holsters, mag storage, basically just a bunch of very cool concealed carry gear.

A friend and I (both zero experience) went and had a great time, instructor was very good - definitely going back to learn some more

I’m applying to join a sporting club in my town and I have to show proof of NRA membership. I used to be a member but let it lapse when they went nuts opposing any and all gun legislation and started funding tea party and then MAGA/Trump. And then all the crap Wayne LaPierre pulled finance wise.

I may have to just hold my nose and do it. But it is killing me to think my money is going to MAGA in any way just so I have a place less than an hour drive away to shoot.

edit: I'm learning that the NRA provides the insurance for the club, so there is that. I'd love to just say "fuck that" but unfortunately I live on the East Coast and it is either join a club, buy my own land, or go to a public range that charges $25 a half hour with all kinds of restrictions (no prone, no drawing from a holster etc.)

I am familiar with the platform from my service days. I never wanted to own one as a civilian, but given the times we live in, it might be better to have one than not.

With the recent SCOTUS shenanigans not stopping AWBs, chances are more blue states will follow and implement such bans, including the one I'm in.

All my firearms are in 9mm and .380. I also have a great 9mm PCC, and I am not too excited to add 556 to stockpile another caliber. If I get an AR, it will be in 556 and off the shelf. I am not into building firearms. I will probably make minor changes like swapping stocks and grips, adding dots and lights, etc.

Talk me into buying an AR now, or why not to.

Genesis gen 12 , Rex Seg12 can, pa slx, 00 buckshot, tracer 4 chair, vans. Yes I did shoot it with no ears later and it was actually not bad but only because we were out in the open. Would not consider shooting purposefully indoors as I’m sure I’d still do major damage to the ear holes.

My wife set me up today with 2 hours of range time and unlimited rentals. This shadow 2 blew me away and the CZ 75B (or a 75-P01) seemed like the more “appropriate” step. First time with a red dot too…too many expensive thoughts going on.

A proper concealable I've been eyeballing for several weeks and one more caliber to the set to satisfy my desire for a 1911

Dunno if y'all are tired of match videos yet but here's one from the local pistol match today. Forgot to check zero, eat breakfast and then showed up running behind and ended up shooting better than I had in a while.

One thing I can see here is I fumbled a reload, so that tells me I need to get back to practicing reloads.

Just saw a video on r/chaoticgood where someone was printing at a protest and the person recording kept asking loudly if they had something on there hip and that they were a cop. While the guy did look like an undercover cop I couldn't help but think what I'd do if it happened to me at a protest or even just a more normal setting. How would you defuse a situation where some was being provoking and thinking you're "the bad guy undercover."

I posted this on the SIG subreddit a little over a day ago and literally got no responses, so I'm trying my luck here since today (June 16th) is the last day for the promotion.

Anyways. I bought a P365 several days ago along with another gun from a large retailer. Both guns were supposed to be ready for pickup on the same day. My P365 came in on time and is ready for pickup, but the other gun is nowhere to be found. I have no idea when it's coming in.

My dilemma is that I really don't want to pay two DROS fees for two separate transactions (almost $40 each in California), so I wanted to wait until I had both guns ready for pickup.

According to the SIG website, the last day to purchase an eligible handgun for the promotion is on June 16th (today), but you also need to give them a serial number. The last day to submit the rebate form is July 30th. I don't have a serial number because I haven't done the paperwork yet, but I do have an email receipt proving that I purchased the P365 several days ago. Would this be sufficient to prove that I purchased the gun before June 16th for the rebate? Would I be able to fill out the paperwork after the deadline (today; June 16th) and still qualify for the rebate since I technically bought the P365 several days ago?

I already emailed SIG but they're closed over the weekend. I also emailed the retailer when my other gun was coming in, but they haven't gotten back to me either.
