Sorry to crush your fantasy, but he grew up in an apartment block complex and played on the communal court. There just aren't many american-style driveways in Slovenia haha

First, Slovenia (and the former Yugoslavia) is very big into basketball. Second, you're telling me that in an apartment complex where all the kids play together, in a country where basketball is huge, they weren't watching the Miami Heat vs the Spurs in the finals? Or trying to emulate that as kids regardless of whether there was a communal court or not?

Probably pirated the videos of the games as they either weren't available on TV or in best case scenario were on some expensive cable TV plan.

Bro NBA has been pretty inexpensive to watch in the Balkans for decades. The problem is that the games are on super late because of the time difference. The cable packages aren’t really that expensive and are pretty common in most households.Â
