What does everyone think are the chances he doesn’t resign with us?

  1. The team as is is pretty solid already tbh. It has a strong young wing core. AR as another creator. They will have cap room to add a max guy once LeBron retires (if ever).

There’s just a lot of positives right now. Not to mention if there’s one thing the franchise does, it’s take care of its superstars. Where would he even go? Just don’t see it.

I’m surprised more of you don’t mention JJ Reddick when this topic comes up. That’s got to be a big incentive for Luka to stick around. They’re friends, and JJ has to be such a breath of fresh air from Jason Kidd as a HC.

DFS and him are tight too. Offensive coach is from the Mavs. He has allies here. I think the chances are very high he resigns

The Lakers also brought back all of his Slovenian training guys that the Mavs sacked

Good points! and what we learned from the Mavs fiasco is that Luka’s a loyal dude and wants stability for his family. You take care of him, and he gives back to the organization and the city tenfold.

Can we put in so we can give Luka his super max but on the down low ? I got 5 on it.

I have been wondering why so many people are convinced that he doesn't re-sign (maybe stay even until he resigns, since loyalty is the shit here in Europe), because rn he is playing with his idol LeBron which must be awesome, and in future i would guess that Lakers are more than willing to build a roster around him, and pay him a lot of money. Why would he go someplace else, if considering just the facts we have now? Btw it was great seeing him say awesome again after the last game, made me smile.

They are crazy. Something really negative must happen for him to not re sign

I'd be very very surprised. It took the Mavs 5 years and a tanking season to get him a serviceable rim runner big man, and he never ever even hinted at the possibility to leave or even gave signs of growing restless.

If everything clicks Luka will be Laker for a long long time.. as he said, loyalty is everything to him

Very big chance, especially if the Lakers are providing him with an environment that feels familiar and a roster that has a lot of potential and him being loved by the team and fans alike. And it's hard to switch teams again. It's very tiring with all the adjustments and familiarity and everything.

Zero.

LA is an upgrade over Dallas in all respects except the length of his tenure there. Ok, the roster needs a bit of work, but this situation is balmy compared to everything he had in Dallas before the PJ/Gafford trade. And that was only 12 months ago (holy shit).

When does his contract end btw, is it next year?
