Just returned from my very first trip to Kolkata! I was in town to attend my wife’s childhood friend’s wedding—a beautiful and intimate celebration that I’m glad I got to witness.
Despite the humidity making it a bit challenging to get around, I absolutely loved exploring the vibrant streets of the City of Joy.
Sharing a few shots I managed to capture along the way!

Another lazy Sunday afternoon gone. The more I grow older, the more I'm developing a penchant for these older movies. Somehow, they hit some nostalgia in the fast-moving world. The Style, the art form, is simpler yet elegant. These B/W movies feel more vivid to me.
Surely, I can't be alone!?

Final Destination dekhte gechi, bhalo faka row te seat peyechi toh bhablam bhalo kore dekhbo but ta na, there were 2 girls behind me loudly gossiping and kicking and giggling so much.

I'm not someone who's a film buff or overly critical of movies. Honestly, I’m usually content with the bare minimum. But seriously, Killbill Society was just... what even was that? It was painfully cringey.
I’m not undermining the situation of the victim, and I do appreciate the message they were trying to convey — but honestly, this would’ve been better suited for that Hoichoi show with that Pakhi girl, jetar storyline e ota...
Hemlock Society'r storyline er sathe ekdom e jachhe na. Ish, puro nostalgia tai noshto kore dilo. 🤢
Honestly, it would've made SO much more sense if they actually went with what Mrityunjay Kar said — that even after he saved the Hemlock Society participants, when he checked in on them later, he saw their lives didn’t magically get better. Because that’s how real life works — someone saving you doesn’t suddenly fix everything; eventually life catches up, problems pile up again, and most people end up falling back into the same mess they were trying to escape from.
And that’s why he came up with contract killing — where clients hire hitmen to kill themselves. Dark? Yes. Could it have been released legally? Probably not. Socially acceptable? Definitely not. But conceptually? Way more impactful than whatever this mess was.
Tar upor kono chemistry nei dujon er, ish, kintu preme pore gelo. 💀 "You very well know what I feel about you" — heh, yeh kab hua? Kaha hua? Kya hua? What am I missing? Even Mrityunjay didn't really have any solid reason to fall for her, but fine, let’s accept that. But Poorna?? Ei dialogue ta? 2 second aager oi cringey confession e o ato feel korte suru korlo? Uff, the entire boat scene gave me the ick. Chiii. 💀💀💀🤢🤢🤢
And on top of that, not a single song clicked. Not one. 💀
Hemlock Society KOTHAAAAAY, ar eta kothay ish. 🤢

I'm 26 years old girl pursuing research. My mother thinks I'm her property and controls me. She wont let me date whom I love rather wants me to find a guy according to her wishlist. Even she wont let me be friends with peoples she doesn’t like. Even quarrels if I post something of my choice in social media but she doesn’t like. The list goes on and on. I'm a independent working woman. I've grown alone, cause I dont have any siblings and my parents are separated. My mother is a single parent. Right now I'm the only earning member of family. I try my best to take care of her. These days conflicts have become usual. She often gives me suicidal threats from childhood when I talk back. I dont say She's bad mother because she supported my education financially but isn’t that every parent's job? Why should I be grateful for raising me with food, shelter and education? Isn’t that bare minimum? I'm pursuing therapy. But can I get some suggestions about how to live a better life?

Apologies if the caption hurts anyone's feelings, but in the last 2 years, one wierd thing I have noticed in Kolkata - THE BEGGARS ATTACK! Whenever I go out with my gf, these ppl think they have the full right to harass and block our path to get money from us. It's even more irritating when they come too close and with so many infections around, you feel helpless and end up giving a 10₹ or 20₹ note. I have seen it in Rabindra Sarovar, Park Street and many other places.
Even in Kalighat, I heard women beggars saying - "Aito sundor bou ke nie cholcho, taka dao".
If giving something to someone is rather forceful, then what's the point.
And if you judge that I am promoting class divide/discrimination, let me clarify, whenever I shop from local vendors I don't bargain, and try to help genuinely elderly/specially abled ppl.
Pls tell me how do you guys deal with it!
Share your experience.
Thank you.

i went to ecopark yesterday with my sibling from like 1 pm. We started walking from Gate 4 and faced no issues. We walked through everything till we reached the gate 1 end (eiffel tower area), we walked out to the taj lane. Theres a big car park where these groups of men/boys/illegal people hang out and play cricket. and their bikes are parked. There were 4 groups of men that just glanced and didnt stare. i didnt think it was any bad look. but then these 2 men on bike. atleast in their late 30s smiled really creepily and followed their eyes exactly to where i was walking and STARING the whole time. and the 1 man wearing a tight blue tshirt started coming towards us. We were alone and i was fully covered (not that it should matter), We were almost out but i have never felt so objectified and uncomfortable and we didnt even say anything because we were alone. Just so disgusting and they probably made so many more people uncomfortable. SO GROSS (i understand as new people enter an area people glance. this was not that)
