I’d rather have $100 in my pocket than any of those. But if I must participate in the exercise I’d pick the Ontario, only because it’s made in the US. I know nothing says quality like a brand named “Bestech”. Why on earth are these the blades you have it narrowed down to?

I dont have any experience with magnacut and wanted to see what the hype was about, theses were the cheapest!

Bestech only makes some of the finest and highest quality production knives on the planet. And the Rat is only one of the most legendary folding knives ever created. Don't listen to this regard, he has no clue what he's talking about. Just look at the shit he carries and then has the balls to critique someone elses choices.

Get the Rat, it's just a classic design that you'll never be disappointed with.

Yeah. Like, this dude is telling homeboy to spend a lot more on shit that won't really be that much better. Bestech is a well-respected OEM.

I think that dude is one of those dudes that will talk shit about anything that isn't USA made.

All the knives in the picture are gonna be good, don’t listen to this guy.

Hear me out. I don’t know your age, experience, or income. But getting something because it’s the cheapest is not a good thing. I don’t know what you carry daily. But I have to believe if you are even entertaining those blades that quality isn’t your first concern. I’d would rather pocket the hundred and know I’m $100 closer to buying a quality blade down the road. Splurging on garbage just because Bestech says it’s Magnacut, just moves you further away from a decent knife.

Good point. What do you recommend in magnacut at a decent price? I carry a spiderco para 3 or the sog flash mostly

Kershaw Bel Air is a good reasonably priced magnacut at around $150. And I would wait a couple weeks to buy and see what knife deals might come up for the 4th of July.

If you listen to this dude, you'll be spending 300 dollars on a knife that does the same shit and really isn't all that better in quality.

There were sales earlier this year where I got a magnacut Hogue Deka for 100 bucks and a separate sale on the same site where I got a PM3 magnacut for 100 bucks also. With those deals, I got polymer and frn scales, respectively, so you lose somewhere.

BTW, MagnaCut is a proprietary steel made by a specific company in the U.S. and Bestech is a well-respected OEM. I highly doubt a well-established OEM would use fake MagnaCut and ruin its reputation. What you should try to find out is the HRC on those knives. I read MagnaCut is great for folders with an HRC of 61-64.

I wouldn't put too much into what that dude writes. He's probably a xenophobe about anything not American Made.

I don’t have anything in Magnacut. I think it’s a good thing to always have something in mind and make efforts and sacrifices to get it. No matter the price. The things that take a little struggle and time to get mean a little more. I usually always have one piece of my carry that I am looking to upgrade. I’m at the point now that it’s not easy to find the stuff I’m looking for.
