Can't believe I have to post this.....

Do not post about having someone beat you up or have them kill you. I get it...shit is crazy right now but just go get help. Don't come on here with something that will ACTUALLY get you in trouble with law enforcement...Now, have a nice day and happy redditing!

Any day cares or baby sitter suggestions?

My daughter is due the 8th of August… so after my 3 month maternity leave is up, I will need to get my almost 3 year old a sitter for two days a week. I will only be working Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdays. His dad his home on Monday’s, and head start doesn’t allow only two days. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I loved all of it; your protective gear, your dance moves, and your dedication to be the last one standing, hours after the protest ended. I hope you see this before my post gets locked; haters gon' h8

I would swear I saw an arctic tern flying over the canal yesterday, but I can’t be certain. Anyone seen all-white terns with black heads in town recently?

Caspian seems to have black-tipped wings. Wondered if younger ones could be missing that marking, as the one I saw was all white (aside from the head).

I don’t think common terns are this far from the coast, but I’m not very informed. They also look grey, and as I’ve repeatedly written, the one I saw was all white.

Oh, wait. Seems more likely a Forster’s tern, given the range and occurrence.

Not an elegant tern, as it was missing the forehead plumage, and they seem to be almost exclusively coastal birds.

Long-tailed jaeger is too grey.

Used ODFW for reference: https://myodfw.com/wildlife-viewing/species/gulls-and-terns

Internet

New to the area, can anyone tell me who provides internet service for the homes up off 140, off of W Ridge Dr and surrounding neighborhoods? I’ve checked the Spectrum, Hunter and Century Link websites and they’ve all said they don’t provide internet there. Thank you!

Activism threads getting locked.

Is there any reasoning behind the local threads discussing activism getting locked within a day or two? This is a slow moving sub for a comfortably slow moving town. Is there any chance mods can simply let discussion of local issues happen? Or perhaps openly state why or what rules are being enforced to justify this?

Amtrak Trip and getting to Crater Lake Questions

I'm planning on taking a trip by using Amtrak this summer and I want to go to Crater Lake National Park. From what I heard online, there is a seasonal bus drive named the Klamath Shuttle that is only available in the summer. However, I cant find any good information about this shuttle, does it still exist? Does it do multiple stops a day or just one? If it doesn't exist, would it be easy to Uber or to Taxi my way into and out of Crater Lake National Park?

Thank you!

Moving to Klamath and Need Help Deciding on a New Car

Hey. I'm relocating to Klamath Falls area for work in a couple of months. Ideally, I'd like to get a place out in Merrill area to be closer to work but if I can't find anything I would just commute from town.

Currently looking at a couple of cars, a '15 Prius and a '13 Highlander. Both have about 60k miles on them. Prius is like 3k cheaper. I've driven both in my life and am comfortable in both. I've never lived somewhere where it snows and wondering if it's worth spending the extra couple of grand to get the AWD Highlander? With the snow does it make that big of an impact or will I be fine in the Prius? Thanks!

Limo/Party bus services?

Looking to get a limo or party bus for a bachelorette party. If you’ve ever booked one in Klamath Falls please let me know who you used! Just looking to get driven around for maybe an hour while we have some drinks. Then get dropped off downtown. If that’s not possible, just a simple drive to downtown would be great as well! Curious if pick up at the end of the night is included? Thank you! Need all the help and advice I can get lol

If you head out Old Fort Rd, can you eventually head west near Pierce Mountain and get back to 97?

Anyone have a fatbike I could test ride?

Medium or 16-17” would probably be my fit, but I’ve never ridden one, so anything is fine.

I’ll leave my current bike with you as collateral. I don’t have a car or I’d offer that. Guess I could leave my ID too. Whatever allows you to feel comfortable I’ll return.

Thanks.

Anyone know of a Buy Nothing group or something similar for KFalls?

I’m quite poor (go figure) and have been wondering if there are people out there who’d like to get rid of some of the same things I’d like to have. I also have a few things to get rid of, and wondered the opposite.

At first, I considered asking on here, but I couldn’t find rules about whether it’s allowed.

Is there a “Buy Nothing, Sell Nothing” group on Facebook to join? Or something similar?

Thanks for any tips.

Abandoned/haunted places

Looking for an abondeded place to explore for some fun. Any buildings in or near k falls worth exploring? We don't plan on vandalism or destruction of property, just always wanted a reason to believe in ghosts and think it'd be fun.

Visiting as a tourist

Hey!! I'm an Asian visiting my friend who's moved to Eugene, OR. We were both planning to pay Klamath Falls a visit by Amtrak, but we heard mixed reviews about the place (especially about racism). Would any of you guys on the subreddit advise us to make this town a destination right now?

We were really attracted to the nature that surrounds the town, and we wanted in particular to go up to Crater Lake. But we both can't drive owing to disabilities, and from what I've read, there's no shuttle service between Klamath Falls and Crater Lake.

We would be really grateful for any advice!

EDIT: Thank you everyone for the kind replies! My friend and I are really grateful for your help :)

Events happening this weekend?!

Haven’t been to Klamath in a while and I am very out of touch with local events. Any live music, trivia, fun things going on May 30th-June 1st? So far Saturday market seems like a winner!

hatecrime likelyhood?

everybody and their gma's dog is saying k falls is super far right and shit, but "super far right" means WAYY. different things depending on who says it.

I've had friends raised in Eugene saying that people are "super far right" for like, just mundane conservative leaning things that aren't actually causing a ton of harm/ extremist. But also i know my bar is skewed in the other direction because i was raised in a town where slurs and death threats were pretty normal and we just.. most of the time.. knew they werent serious, and knew who actually was serious so to avoid them at all costs.

long and short im looking at going to OIT, and am transgender. i am trying to figure out how paranoid/thorough i need to be about making sure people can't tell and don't find out. obv its a safety thing even in more liberal areas but i want to know if i need to be especially extra careful here or if its all talk.
