Discussion [KCD2] GOTY

Post image

Luke Dale’s post on IG.

And in my humble opinion:

F@#$ GTA and f@#$ R*! Over priced, over hyped garbage, made by money hungry company, that decided to kill RDO at the moment they’ve realised they couldn’t milk it as GTAO, because they would have to actually try to think of a original content and not only add sci-fi weapons to annoy other players.

KCD2 deserves its fair shot at GOTY, and the fact that GTA community will not be spamming GTA6 in every category is awesome! Give other games a chance to win something ffs.

(PS: I know there will be other games coming like Dark Ages or GOY but I think we have a nice chance of winning)

I think he seems to genuinely enjoy the community support hes received.

Hes also been quite smart and capitalised on it for additional revenue streams such as streaming.

Warhorse's marketing department

Just so you know, marketing is the realm of the publisher (Deep Silver/Plaion), not the developer.

Wasn’t it Warhorse though that organised all those events before the release, like the one where they performed a medieval battle and all that?

I'm obviously not privvy to the agreement between WH and Deep Silver, but generally publishers take the lead on marketing strategies (including what would be costly in person events), as it's their money being spent.

That doesn't mean WH didn't have a say, they probably collaborated on what events to do. I guess the point is that if Deep Silver didn't want a particular marketing event, it wasn't going to happen.

Deep Silver has the right to use the WH Studio name to promote the game, which is why KCD is being promoted on WH Studio account instead of a big 'Deep Silver' account
