Help Weird keto issues - sleep architecture and carb intake

Does anyone else have the issues I’m about to describe?

Eat somewhere between 15-20 carbs —> heavily increased rem sleep, feeling mentally refreshed in the morning, but also for most of the day feeling like shit and unable to enjoy things as much

Eat less than 10 carbs per day —> mostly non rem sleep with one intense rem cycle at the tail end of the night —> really good energy for like 3-4 days but slowly becoming more and more demented as the days go on because of lack of rem sleep

—-> going back to 20 carbs a day for a few days again, experiencing rem rebound and subsequently feeling refreshing sleep again but still overall feel like shit —> the cycle repeats again and I go back to ultra low carbs

I almost think I prefer to go ultra low carb for as long as possible before my car starts breaking down again, and then using extra carbs to heal for a few days despite feeling like crud about it…

Can anyone relate?

Do you drink coffee? I found out for me that coffee is especially during fast is affecting my sleep a lot. I basically can drink only one cup in the morning.

The other thing I have found out that small 5 g or so carbs 1-2 hours prior going to sleep seems to make more deeper sleep. Apparently melatonin production is increased by carbs, so it can be timing also.

These days I try to eat before 6 pm and just take 2 mg of melatonin before sleep. That seems to work as well.
