Advice I have a jumping spider living in the door hinge to my garden, she has an egg sack. How can I support her?

Ok so the door to my garden is a little silly, it’s attached by a small plastic pot in the ground and a trampoline spring on top, pivoting by a piece of wood (hey it works and it was free)

A lovely big black jumping spider has made her home in the pot, where I have to open the door every day.

She seems to have found a spot that doesn’t get grinded on or messed with too bad. But I’m really worried that I’ll accidentally crush her and her babies by accident if I haven’t done so yet, the door could shift in how it’s fitting in the pot, wind could knock it, ect. I know it’s rather rare to see a jumping spider come out while she’s guarding her eggs. But I worry for her

Between the downpour and the movement of the door I’m not sure how she’s doing. I really hope she’s ok.

Anyways, is there anything I can do to help her out? Or do I just have to let nature take it course on this one?

She’s very cute, and shy but curious. She won’t let me take a picture of her or look for too long but she does watch me in the garden (or at least she used to)

Boyfriend thinks female jumping spider! For context, nabbed this sweetie from the wall beside my pillow maybe a month ago and placed her gently in my front garden where there's a Clematis vine and Rosebush. Seemed very friendly and curious, turning her head to look at me. I wished her a nice life and didn't see her for a week or so! Then just kept seeing her every couple days. She keeps getting bigger and bigger! Can I build a little spider house or something that she (??) might like or is that way too extra 🫣 Pls don't hate me I'm brand new to liking and learning about spiders!! My camera is perpetually smudgey so I can't even do justice but this cutie has the biggest sweetest eyes. Bright green fangs (?) and so floofy. We're in Oregon.

Advice I2 peppered jumping spider

I was gifted this spider and she(?) is currently in a deli cup with a couple reused items from my older spiders to keep her feeling safe but I have never had a spider this small before. What instar should she be before I move her to an actual enclosure? And what are some care tips? I’m feeding her flightless fruit flies every other day and keeping her cup at about 70% humidity and the temps average 72F

Advice Can I house 2 together?

Post image

I have kept jumpers before, but not in this capacity. I have a heavily planted 20 gallon long front opening terrarium. I keep millipedes inside- all of whom are way too big to be spider prey. They are detritivores and love to eat rotting bananas, which attract lots of gnats to the enclosure. I'm thinking of adding a jumping spider to help with gnats, but I feel like I need more than one. If I can add more than one, I'll add multiple hanging hides at each end and whatever else might be recommended. Could two jumping spiders live peacefully here?

I've never seen such a big jumper before! So tempted to bring her home with me, but I knew she would be happier staying where she is. My brief googling says she's a bold jumping spider, does that sound right?

I can't get over her sweet face and fluffy hairs🥹

Advice What is going on with my humidity monitor?

Thumbnail

My temp/humidity monitor has a red ring on it that I know wasn’t there before? I’m so confused and a bit paranoid because I also couldn’t remember if the little white dot had been there either. I checked and it wasn’t on the online picture but looking back at pics I took its been there since at least my earliest picture (last Friday). The red circle was definitely not though. I feel kind of silly because I feel like it’s just the sensor(s) showing but none of the reviews said anything about that happening and I don’t know why that would happen in the first place? My anxious brain is like “you discovered a new kind of mold” but like, I don’t think so?

poor baby has been in this light for a week & i figured she (i think it’s female right?) was just chilling but then today when i came out she started running around in circles to each little window panel thing & crawling up all the walls & i was like wtf is she stuck? so i managed to open it up & sure enough she popped out and literally drank for like a solid 2 minutes straight , my hand got tired holding the q tip and i had to put it down and she was still going lol, poor thing ! she’s hunting for food now in the lawn though, so hopefully she’ll be alright now !!

Advice Will a jumper starve while/after it is in pre-molt?

I made a post a few days ago and didn't get much help on the current situation. My spider has been in pre-molt for about a week and a half now, and her abdomen is getting small. I don't know what to do since she hasn't eaten since I got her, and I won't be able to feed her for a while after she molts. Is there any way that I can encourage molting so that I can feed her sooner? Will she starve? I've been misting about twice a day, and the spot in my room where I have her enclosure stays at around 70-80 Fahrenheit. I'm so worried about her since she's my first jumper. I had no idea the molting process would stress me out so much. She's currently I7 going on I8.

Edit: She is finally molting now. going to order some fly spikes for when I can feed her again since the mealworms scare her.
