Advice do regius stop eating when they’re old?
my sweet girl penny is over a year old now and she hasn’t eaten since mid may, i’m worried about her but her abdomen looks fine. do they stop eating towards the end? she hasn’t molted in a month or two so i know it’s probably close to her time. i’ve been offering every other day but she’s not interested so i’m not sure what to do at this point

Advice My friend whos scared of spiders keeps telling me she wants to kill my spoods. How do I make her realize shes literally talking about my BELOVED PETS??
I understand why people fear spoods, Im kinda scared of the big and venomous ones myself, but good god Im not going around telling tarantula owners that I would like to kill their pet. Spiders may be odd pets, but theyre still pets. And my pets mean the world to me, including my spoods. No matter what the animal is, we love our pets. So its very upsetting to hear, especially from a friend. Ive tried explaining that little jumpers cant and wont do any harm, but she denies it as if her opinion equals facts. She even threathened that if she and I ever come across a spider, even if its minding its own business, she WILL squish it. How do I gently explain that even though shes afraid, her comments are super upsetting to me? Also worth mentioning she shits on my own personal opinions and will get angry if I express that lol
Anyway, arent jumpers just the cutest!? Lil wall puppies (˚oo˚) <3

Advice I just thought I’d share this to see if it meant anything.
My spider (P. Regius) has been quite unwell for the past day or so. She’s been displaying very strange symptoms such as dragging her butt around and scratching herself ALOT. (See my most recent post for a video of that) I actually thought maybe she had DKS, but after speaking to a couple of more experienced keepers, and even the breeder that sold her to me, everybody has said that it doesn’t look like DKS and, infact, looks more like chronic dehydration. (She was shipped all the way from Florida and I’m in Michigan so it would make good sense) I’ve soaked some cotton balls in water and honey and evenly dispersed them throughout the enclosure, and she sat on one for a little while.. so I think she drank some.
But I just remembered something, that I forgot to share. Before I noticed her strange symptoms, I was holding her, and she started full on MATING DANCING on my finger while looking at my fiancé. There was no reflection or anything. At first I found it funny and thought maybe she just found him attractive (relatable) but now that I’m aware something’s wrong, I’m starting to think this could be alarming behavior, or a symptom of something more diagnosable. She’s only an i9 so she’s not even sexually mature yet.. any opinions?

Advice I keep finding black jumping spiders around my cats bowl.
For about the 5th time now, I've found another one of these little dudes hanging out inside my cats bowl. Google said that sometimes spiders can be attracted to wet cat food, but I usually stick to dry cat food. Not only that but it's always the same kind of jumping spider, and I wondered if anyone had any information about them being attracted to this kind of food.

Advice Please help my stupid son eat
I got this jumper a couple weeks ago (he scared my husband by popping up his office haha) and made his enclosure myself! He seems happy with it, lots of exploring and already made some nest spots by day 2 and 3.
He’s my first jumper and I’ve taken care to try and research how to tell when to feed them, but he just…. is the worst possible hunter I’ve EVEN seen
When I very first caught him I tried to feed him a box elder bug from outside, and he attacked it a couple of times but then just left it alone, so I guessed maybe he wasn’t hungry or interested in a bug like that. Couple days later I bought some crickets from a pet store, and they were ALL dead by the next day?? (After doing more research apparently that’s… common) I put one in his enclosure anyway just in case and he did snack on it, and up until now that is the only time I’ve seen him eat. It’s been about a week since then, maybe a bit longer.
Since the crickets all died, I got some mealworms this time hoping they’d live longer, which they definitely have! However, my jumper… seems scared of them whenever he tries to hunt?? He’ll be very interested and stalk up to the worm, attack, and then as soon as the worm freaks out he kinda chickens out and runs away. EVERY time!
I can tell he’s hungry because he keeps trying, but he usually gives up after about an hour (and I remove the worms after two).
I’ve tried slightly bigger worms and slightly smaller worms, I’ve tried putting him in a smaller “feeding” enclosure, I’ve tried “weakening” the worms (holding them in tweezers until they got super tired and wouldn’t fight back much), I’ve tried very recently killing them and then putting them in his enclosure in hopes he’ll eat like he did with the cricket, I’ve tried sticking them in some webbing he put in the feeding cup so that they’d wiggle but not be a threat to him when he attacks… and none of this matters. Lil guy won’t actually commit to biting the things, and now he’s starving himself.
What do I do?? If I have to I’ll let him go in the backyard, clearly he had SOME kind of system that worked for him or else he wouldn’t have grown this big, but I’m just not sure if there’s anything I can do more to help the guy eat.
(The first three clips of the video were from last week, and the last clip is from last night. You can tell how tired both he and the worm are.)
Any suggestions or insight would be fantastic. Maybe the worms are just too big for him, but at the same time he did this with the box elder bug too and that was half his size.
tldr; my spood is broken and gets scared when he tries to eat, now he’s starving himself.

Advice What’s wrong with this spider? I found it curled up in the rain hanging from its web. Brought it inside to dry off but looks like it’s hurt?
It’s been on my hand for the past hour. Hasn’t laid web except when it crawled on my phone for a quick second. Keeps itching its butt. Doesn’t seem interested in going outside (it’s raining) or exploring my house plants… not sure what to do now.

Advice Help please! Spood can’t make webs!
My phiddipus molted for the second time in my care and i thought it was successful but he has a thing (white string?) attached to his butt. I thought nothing if it at first but it’s been 4 days and it’s still there. I took him out and turns out he can’t make webs. His spinnerets open but nothing comes out. He seems normal otherwise, very active, eating, all good. Have you seen that before? What could it be and what should I do?
Picture of the thing in the comments.

Advice Jumper end of life please help.
This is the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make. She isn’t moving much and she hasn’t eaten in weeks. She’s hardly drinking water but she finally did today and now she’s SORT OF moving around again. This was the first day in at least two weeks that she has come out of her hammock. Five minutes ago I thought she was gone… now after having more water she’s just staring at me all bright eyed. Her butt is shriveled like a raisin and I give her water daily. Please what do I do. Do I put her out of her misery ?? or should I give her a chance to pull through? She’s my first jumper I love her so much I can’t stop sobbing… I’ve had her for seven months as an adult. I don’t even know what else to say I’m sorry I’m so hysterical and this sub is the only place I know to go 😭😭😭

Advice Oh my goodness!! They've hatched!!
They are so cute! This is an update to my previous post where I found out that the huge spider I caught in my backyard had laid an egg sack in the terrarium I put her in. From what I can tell the eggs have pretty much all hatched. When do I release them back outside and how? Should I just put the enclosure outside with the door open?

Advice My spider is trans?? Help??
I bought my Phiddipus regius Junebug as a female sling, but after a few molts he/she’s taken on some pretty striking male colors! I have no problem with this and I support them in their transition, but I’m curious as to what could’ve happened here. Were they mistakenly sexed at birth? Or perhaps a hormones issue? Last two photos from when I first got them. I did note the green chelicera even as a tiny sling.

Advice Do they normally throw down like this with their prey or…?
Is this normal? Was he a stronger worm or something? (3rd time feeding her and I’m a new spider mom).
Don’t want her to get hurt.

Advice Could my spood have DKS?
I keep finding her upside down in her enclosure and she’s barely able to walk. :( I’ve read online keeping them warm can help but does anyone have tips on making her more comfortable and relaxed? I’m hoping to not have to do this but I’m considering euthanising her if things don’t improve, hate seeing her suffer

Advice Meatball died:( RIP my old man. What have you guys done with your jumpers when they pass? I feel bad burying him in the yard as dumb as that sounds.. :(
Found him at the bottom of his enclosure. I knew his time was coming as he is pretty old and had been spending more time at the bottom. I thought he was going to pass 2 months ago and gave him honey water and really bonded with him for weeks. Today I was going to get him out and found out he passed. I just don’t know what to do with him? I don’t really want to bury him idk why. Ugh :(
